Yeah it will, these things have a range of 1000 ft+. That's more than 3 football fields away.
Just placed my order. This thing sounds awsum from the answers to the questions.

I asked, what do I tell them at the track when they ask what freq., he said, "Spektrum".
traxxas thrasher Wrote:hey bernie, on a practice nite when can you tune you truck?

on pratice nights, you are only allowed to tune between 5:35pm and 5:45pm.

ok JK

what do you mean when can you? you can tune when ever you have a screwdriver handy.
well if the others were running ther trucks on the track where do you tune it then?
wouldn't it be hard to tune with like 10+ nitro RCs going at once? I tend to tune by sound.

Since I have spektrum, couldn't I tune my truck in the parking lot ?
well i would think it would be okay but dont blame me tho Big Grin

no that isnt an attack to destroy team triple threat :bustingup
No running in the parking lot. all I need is a run away hitting a car or someone in the lot

k, I'll just give the neighbors somethin to wake up to in the morning before I go to the track Wink Big Grin
You tune your RC on the track.....

Fire it up, take a slow lap on the track and pull back in the pits when you come around to check it. Based on how it felt (power wise) and smoke/temps you adjust the needles acordingly. Take another lap......
With the Spektrum system you can use your radio during a run, it won't bother the racers.
i wouldnt touch the tune for at least 5 min of solid running unless its all outta whack.

you cant tune a motor till its at least 200+

i dont tweak mine till i get at least 10 minutes on it so the chassis has a chance to heat soak.

lets say you tune for 260 (in the summer) @ the end of a 5 min qual... if you have a 20 min main, you maybe be at 280=290 thru 2/3rds of the race... bit hot for me....

if you have alot to tune.... get a bud that can help you, and just yell down what adjustment you want done.
alot of tune comes form how the motor feels as u are driving it also, u can normally tell if it isnt running right
that's what I was trying to say Mike, thanks
The worst is adjusting the LSN IMO, HSN is simple with a temp gun but the LSN is like the last thing I want to deal with.
Pinch test for the low speed needle.

A football field is 900 ft... :p: But I see your point on it still being unsafe to tune in the smoking room. Besides, you can't start the truck in the pits anyway, not enough ventilation....

A football field is 100 YARDS long, the 50 YARD line is right in the middle, come on, I hate sports and still know this.
LOL... My mistake... Too many nitro fumes tonight... lol
Wow... that was good. lmao
no i dont want to start it just to mess with the servos....like if a servo goes bad and i need to replace i wanna make sure its gonna work before i go put it on the track and i go half way threw then it dont turn no more..
Best bet with that, is carry your truck to the track, grab a clip, test the servo, turn off your gear, replace the clip, then go back into the pits and install everything.
that is what i tohught i hadda do i just wanted to make sure
If you ask we will let you adjust your radio with the clip in the pits. then return it to the broad
