Just read the article on this RTR in a magazine and it looks like a great deal considering the Spektrum radio system that comes with it. Does anyone have one? Did you do much to it after getting it?

Thanks!
MXKevin has one.
I have one also.

They've done a terrible job marketing this truck, the stock body is fugly, and they were fools to release it with the short buggy chassis. That said, it's a great truck and when the new extended Pro ST chassis comes out in spring it's going to take the track by storm.

I haven't done much to it. I put on the wing and made some CF parts but that's it. The new ackerman plate I designed made a big difference in steering. That and the bearings in the steering arms and a longer servo arm. Of course I use an Airtronics 358 steering servo.

I also use the 8mm buggy axles and 17mm hexes so I can run the Ofna Jammin CRT wheels w/ Boas.
I read that same article and i think they said at the end that it was a good trug but wasnt up to par with the rest of the truggy market
Rocco, that's true. In it's current form it's not up to par with the rest of the truggy market, but it's not far behind. Like I said, they dropped the ball on this truck and only got it %95 right. The thing is, it won't cost $600 to fix it. And that is my point. For the money, it's a lot better than any Revo that's for sure!
Well I own one and did some mods which made it much better.
I changed out the Shock towers to thicker ones, changed out the chassis stifners to the round thicker ones, put in 10k diff oil in center diff, added the threaded adjustable shock collers. The tires suck and okay for the street. I picked up the JR z650m and put that as the steering servo and used the 590 as the throttle servo and put the standard servo in the tool box. I also added the Hex adapters so I don't have to worry about the pins and the stock adapter falling out.
I plan on going with Maximizer rims so I stayed stock with the axles.
What did the owners pay for their stock rtr?
I did not get the one that comes wit the Spectrum...That was released a month after
I bought mine.

I got 4 glow plugs, Glow starter, 1 gal of Odonnels fuel and the RTR for $467 plus tax and stuff. It went for that and I asked to make the pot a lot nicer for me to buy it.
Loctite everything metal to metal. replaced bushings with bearings(theres 6 of them). replaced motor mounts, chassis stiffeners, shocktowers, plastic stand offs, and ad the wing. lets see, then theres servo, CF bling bling, tires, shock and diff oils, then removed roto starter, and paint up a new body.
Never had a mechanical failer, only broke plastic stuf hittin tubes or other cars. Diff are pretty and bearings good. Never bought either for my buggy and have had over a year. I got mine the day it made it to the store so no deals Sad
