Well i have an itch and some time, so im going to try to put rear brakes on my revo, i think i know how i want to do it but any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.
guess no one has any ideas or comments or has thought of attempting this.
Do you mean like running a quickturn or seperat rear brakes??
i have a center diff. i can lern to race with the front brakes only just have to make adjustments in radio/servo so i dont lock them up. but it would be really cool if i could fabricate and mount some seperate rear brakes huh Smile then my revo would just about be a truggo.
before anybody says "isnt that what a quickturn is designed to stop, front braking?" but the only benefit from a quick turn is IN THE TURNS. It doesnt help with proper power displacment, which is key to turning faster laps, now on a smooth track with really tight turns the quickturn and center diff begin to equall out becuase you can put more power down on the smooth track without needing the center diff as much, but usually after the quals and practice the track usually starts to go away buy the mains and that is where the center diff is genious, becuase you can run and gun without fear from wheelies getting to outa control, also you can run a motor with more uummpphh without having to fear the control factor as much. now some people will say well steve slayden beats truggies all the time, yes slayden is fast as hell with a revo, hence he drives for traxxas, but i would bet a set of gtr shocks that he would be faster with a truck that had a center diff. I am not being a smart ass im just saying what i think to be true from the research and what i know about vehicle physics, main thing all the power in the world won't win you a race if you can't put it to the ground and thats what a center diff does.
amen
well put! Idea
@#$% yeah i think i figured out the best way to put rear brakes on the revo. and its not that complicated.
post some pics when your done.

thats great, good job overyeoj
In this very rough pic you can kinda see what im talking about, instead of trying to attach to the rear of the trans case somewhere just attach everything to the backside of the blocks that hold the rear shocks in place, make them pull double duty that way the brake systems are facing the same way, then they can truley work in tandem and be adjusted how you want them. If anybody see a flaw with this design or is intersted and doesn't understand what im talking about pm me Smile
I dont even have a revo and I understand that picture very cleary. good job!! Big Grin
yeah ive seen all kinds of wierd setups for rear brakes on the revo but this just makes sense i think.
thanks Smile makes me happy
i know there is some really smart poeple in this forumthat have been in rc for years, come on give me some feed back, maybe you can identify some that is wrong before i start fabricating so i can change the design and save me some headache lol.
your the test monkey/custom fabricator....we trust you'll make it work (so we can copy you...lol)
gee thanx tex lol Smile for the vote of confidence. Smile
