How long would a set a bowties or similiar tires last at the track. I don't want to buy them if they will only last for maybe one or two days of racing/practice, if even that long.
Bowties wear like an 80,000 miles passenger car tire! They are very long lasting if you run them on the track and keep them off of the pavement. I have a set that i raced almost all summer and they are still fine!
bow ties if run on the track only should last a long time, If your not sponsored by a tire manufacturer and you race on a semi regular basis, I can see getting a whole season on a set.
Oh that's what I was hoping to hear. Being only 15 and not able to drive yet on my own, I doubt I will make it out that much because its like an hours drive and my parents don't really have an interest in it.

I plan on getting either bowties or crime fighters on standard velocitys. Aren't cf's lighter than bowties and a lower profile?
i just got a set the other day, i know someone who had them and they lasted a while. BTW r u going out the track tomorrow? (thursday)
No, my truck isn't running, but I did order some stuff and am getting close. Should be done by the 14th. I ordered used UE ultralite cases, tony screws, diffs from Rob, and a shim kit from UE. I still need UE Ti center cvd's, pullstart, and clutch.
I have both Crimes mt and Bowties. The crimes are slightly lighter and they are narrow, which is good for turn in...

My crimes seem to wear extremley well also. There are on my LSP with a modded engine and at the last race i was at (newberries) the track was very hard packed and the crimes hooked up well.
So what do you suggest to get for Leisure? I was never at a track before, but it seems like Leisure is hard packed. And you're saying that Crimes wear faster also?
Bowties work great at the track. Also, the bowties will outlast the stock foams. If you get standard sized bowties, the Trinity 3 stage foams are excelent. if you go 40 series, I'm sure someone here could suggest a better foam.
Since i havent ever been to LH i cant tell you what to buy for that track.... I personally feel that the crimes are a better tire I just like them alot. And MT Crimes Wear just as well in my opinion as bow-ties. I have around 5 or 6 heats , a 10 min main and a half hour main on them and they show almost No wear...
Ok thanks. I need to see where my budget is after I get everything I need to get running. If I don't get bowties in time for racing, how well will trimmed sporttraxx tires work?
Hmmmm... the sports may hook up ok... I think Tex used to run the on this SM a lonnnnng time ago
Didn't notice you posted the same time as me.

So I guess I will be in "ok" shape if I have no money for better tires.
Yeah bud... You could probaly give it a shot and be fine... They may not be the best but the certainly wouldnt be the worst
Thanks for you help.
No problem bud

are these the ones you were talking about Trinity 3 Stage Truck

Or these Trinity Foam Insert Maxx
The Racers-edge foams are good.

RE foams.
Ok
The second set....

The Racers Edge foams look about the same. Whichever set you can get easier or cheaper would work MUCH better than the stock bowtie foams
Thing about the Trinity foams is that you have to glue the inserts together.
Come on Rich.....give him a link with a better price next time Rolleyes J/K lol

Racers Edge Foams
LOL Eric, I just wanted to show him some other options.
