my t-maxx at this point is 9.3 pounds  :o

I have the FOC which I also took out the reverse servo.

could it be that I still have the stock wheels on that is adding quite a bit of weight?
Other than the reverse being eliminated have you added anything else? 9.3 pounds sounds about right for a stock T-maxx. The stock tires are very heavy, put on some Bowties and you'll lose about a half of a pound.
well I have some bowties but need to put them on the wheels so Ill way it when I have those on.

also I havent really added much except for aluminum bulkheads
Ditch the EZ start for a pull start. It'll lose some weight doing that.
I hate those stupid pull starters. I used one for only a few times and after that it wouldnt rewind.

so maybe ill change it to a pull starter
You could go with a Sullivan Tiger Drive. Some people have had great luck with them, some have had problems with the one-way bearing. The Tiger drive will be a lot lighter than the EZ-Start, but still be much easier than the pull start. When an engine is tuned properly, pull starts are great, a couple quick pulls to prime the carb, then one or two pulls to start the engine. The big drawback to the Tiger Drive, is you will have to carry a portable drill when you want to run your truck.
I use a pull start and have no problems. If your engine is tuned well it will start on the first or second pull most of the time.
yeah, i have no problem with a pull start, u might even want to look into a roto start
pullstart, FOC, and new lighter tires (like bowties) will drop over a pound off that truck. I know you said you have FOC already, I would try the other stuff.
tex I also got bowties but yea ill probably get a pull starter.

the reason I dont like the pull starters is because mine broke within a day. that was probably because I got that pull starter pretty used. the string was all ripped and stuff....

so ill probably get a pull starter.

thanks for your help but if anyone has anymore ides please post.

thanks, traxxas thrasher
Pullstarts on the 2.5 have what I call a "break in period". This is what happens 95% of the time with a 2.5 pullstart:
You install it making sure the oneway bearing is facing the correct direction
It works dandy for a couple tanks
Then it gets stuck out and won't retract
You have to take it back off the motor, spray the one way bearing with wd40
Re-install it and it will work for gallons after that, trouble free.
