Another question for you guys.

There are silver and black axles and they are threaded opposite.

Is there a reason for this???
I can't see why this is.

Thanks
So that when you accelerate your nuts tighten, and you strip out wheels less.

If they were all right hand threaded, then when you accel then the 2 silver ones would loosen and make your hexes strip out.
revo2k is correct. It's to help prevent the nuts from loosening on ya. Looking at the truck from the passenger side the nuts should turn clockwise to loosen. Looking at the driver side they should turn counter-clockwise to loosen. On some RTR models it was assembled backwards (mine was), so check your's out just to be sure.

Imagine rotating the axle to make the truck move forward. If you were to hold the nut, it should tighten on ya (incase my explaination above is confusing).
Its also a Pain in the butt because if you loose one of the reverse threaded nuts its not very easy to find a replacement and chances are slim that someone will ahve a spare. I've known a lot of people to replace the reverse threaded axles with standard ones for just that reason but the reverse threads are less likley to come loose.
I allways keep spare lefty nuts on hand (that sounds funny! He He!) They are cheap and available from Tower.
Yeah, when I had mine, I always had at least 4 handy, just incase.
I have reverse nuts on my mayhem buggy. Those are the ones I always loose from hard landings.
does this stand true when you run the proline 23 mm hexs, will they come loose?
Well wait a minute here.

This actually makes no sense really cuz there are the touring cars, my HPI MT, my mayham ST, My RC10T---all do not have reversed threads along with many more cars and trucks.
So when you fly with these RC cars and trucks the nuts don't come off or loosen.

So why should this be any different??
This is what does not make sense to me. Why on one or some trucks reversed threads and on anothers non reversed threads?? Even with the same manufacture on them.
What is the reason for the inconsistancy?

Sorry I should have made myself a bit more clear on what I did not get with this.
some times they don't feel they need to put reverse threads on them. my losi xxx-nt/ traxxas 4-tec/and ofna 9.5 all do not have reverse threads on them. i have never lost a tire because they are not reversed? just make sure they are tight before i run!
That is exactly what I do. I too never lost one before.

I've had 23mm stuff come loose. Not the nut on the axle, but the big 23mm one.

Just gotta make sure you always tighten them!

Also, HPI may feel that the smaller 1/10 scale stuff might not be as suseptible to nut loosening? Who knows, lol.
