hey guys I have a t-maxx and one day I was driving it and my spur gear stripped. so I decided to put a robinson racing hardened steel gear on that the hobby town recommended and it striped out my internal gears. so I had them replace the gears and this time I took 5 tanks of break in to get the gears used to running and then when I went to pull a wheelie the gears stripped. so I had the gears replaced again but put on the stock spur gear. I again did the 5 tank break in process and they stripped out. so im going to send it to traxxas to fix.

anyways the reason I posted this is to see if this has happened to anyone else and if you were me what would you do?

thanks, traxxas thrasher
what motor?
stock 2.5
Hmm. this is why I am so against steel spurs!(even though I run one) If I were you and wanted to make the tranny bulletproof and never have to look at it again(except for a greasing every once in a while) I would buy the UE super6 and otb 2speed gears
wow, thats wierd, must be the steel spur, cuz i have had 5 2.5s in two different maxxes and never had any problem with the trans, my uncle did though, when he first got it he went through like 4 trans's in like 7 tanks, i was with him two he wasnt driving hard at all, he actually blew 2 trying to break it in. i think that traxxas has a bad batch of things every once in a while, because my dad has a tmaxx and the motor that came in it only lasted about a half a gallon. then the next one almost has 3 thru it and no problems yet, i have a 2.5 that has i think about 7

7 what?

yea your right they do have a bad batch every once in a while like when I got it I barely hit a curb it was going about 10 mph and the whole front end snapped off. so I bought new ones and bashed the he!! out of it and they havent broke yet so yea your right.
yeah that sucks and 7 gallons
