I just register to this board Smile I live in Lombard, IL and maybe I'll meet you guys someday at Berwyn (maybe next year). Anyways, I have an e-maxx with upgrades:

Pro-Line Powerstrokes
G-Maxx Al Chassis
RPM Blue A-Arms
GA Bulkheads
Integy Shock Towers And Skids
Stock Motors
7 Cell GP3300
I also have F-150 body, but don't know how to cut it correctly (some help?!)

I think that's all.... Now, I'm broke....
Welcome.... Sounds like a nice setup on the E-Maxx. Feel free to join us anytime.
Welcome to the group!!!

Why wait until next year to come out? There's still plenty of
good weather left for bashing. As far as your F-150 body goes,
what are you having a problem with? Any of us could probably
answer your question.

TRC
howdy!!
Next year because I'll get license!!! My b-day is on dec 25. About the body, I have no idea how to cut it, should I get some special tools? If yes which ones.
you can get lexan scissors at you LHS, I used a dremel tool with a cutout bit to get all of my holes in the body. Works nice but it does make a little bit of a mess.
oh yeah, Howdy.
It'll be cool to get some of the electric off-roaders out there bashin as well, I know TRC has an E-maxx that looks pretty hooked-up. You should hitch a ride with someone to get down there this year.
ya man where in lombard do u live? im close to there, i live in lisle...some time u cold hich a ride with me! im usualy all always out there weather or not i got a truck to run!

oh ya welcom.
Thanks for welcomes. I live very close to Butterfield rd and I-55. The street that is next to white hen pantry. It would be awesome to get to Berwyn someday. I hope my parents would let me go lol. Also, my skills at controlling R/C are pretty low. Have it for less than a month Smile I'll post the pics of my truck later tonight.
Wow, I have a co-worker that lives on the same street. I know where you are. Too bad he doesn't drive R/C. hitchin a ride will get you some good practice and valuable driving skills with lots of help and advice from the crew here. Just get out and drive as much as possible to learn some decent control. Thats something a lot of us are still learning as well.
cool man i live priyt close, and i know where it is!
Body cutting:

I do it a little different than most people, I guess. I prefer to run a
SHARP hobby knife along the body lines, bend the lexan along the
score, and POP! the lexan snaps and the body comes out perfect.
For me, it's much faster and the body comes out really smooth.
Just take your time and use a SHARP hobby knife. You don't have
to cut through the lexan, just press hard enought to score the body.

As far as painting goes:

I know this is obvious but you paint the INSIDE of the body.
Use paint that says it's specifically for Lexan.
Wash and dry the body before painting it.
There are a couple good websites out there that give good
advice about painting. I will try to find a few and post them.
Try some single or double color paint jobs at first. Then move
up to the more complicated stuff.

Thanks. I think it would be best to buy some paint at Al's. At first I thought I need to paint outside then peel protective wrap, lol. Later, I asked my dad his advice and he said, "How can you paint and then peel it off?". So, I asked in Traxxas forum and found out that I need to paint inside! Funny...
dont feel bad i though the same thing at first!
Welcome to the boards!
I have had this link in my bookmarks for a number of months. Its hands down the best information I have ever seen on how to paint these bodies, extremely informative. Make sure to note the webpage for future reference.

Here it is.

There are a few sections so make sure to read them all.
Welcome to the board dude!
Do-U-Maxx --- Thanks for posting that link. That's the one
I was thinking of. I couldn't find it for some reason.
You're right, that is one excellent guide to painting.

This months Xtreme R/C Cars had a "top 10 list of mistakes we've all made" That one made the list.
HauntedMyst, the guy that wrote that article is local too. he did a body painting class at one of the MJ's last year. really good guy and he can paint!
Thanks for all the welcomes again Smile

People are so friendly here. Love this forum Big GrinDDDDDD

I always forget to ask. How did you stumble accross the boards? I'm trying to find out which method of advertising is working best for us.

Thanks.
We met him on the Traxxas board and told him about this board and showmerc.com

I think the best method so far is word of mouth (or word of type)
Chicago And Suburbs at Traxxas hehe, as Tex said.
