I'd go dell. Prices are good, always some sort of deal on their site. I've never had any problems with either of my dells. 1 desktop and 2 laptops. Good stuff IMO. http://www.dell.com

I would go with dell. Thats what we did with our desktop. I don't know where you live, but there is a place in orland park mall that you can order it from. You go there and tell them what you want and they also suggest different items. They are nice.

hmm, gateway is seeming pretty expensive, so far HP is pretty good for the price I think.

I would leary of HP, I had a HP a while back and it never worked right, I would stick with a Dell or a Gateway. I currently have a Gateway (8 months old) and haven't had a problem yet. But price wise Dell is the wise choice.

My dad's buddy builds desktops and I think maybe laptops. Let me try to get ahold of him in the next few days and see what he can do... not sure if he does or doesnt.

You can't beat Dell, when it comes to performance and price!!!! I sold computers for many years, even at cost ....Dell beat our prices.

I buy Dell's at home but my company IT guys are 100% Toshiba. They won't even touch a Dell even if we buy it for the company. I don't know what it is they like about Toshiba, but I personally stopped liking them when they sold top secret machinery for making submarine propellers to the Soviets. alute:

If for gaming then Alienware. Everything else then a Dell. Of course what I really want to recommend to you is a Apple Powerbook.
