Which ones better? Need christmas ideas here...
How about you take the hyper .21 and put the rg carb on it.
WHat is your budget, if it is only around 100 then get the OS. The hyper has a hit or miss carb on it, so you will need to buy the os carb for the hyper to run.

If you can swing $200, check out the novarossi 21BF, its there entry level engine, and alot of people are having great success with it.
Well, I already have the os engine. I don't like the carb because it doesn't like to close easily. Stays open just a hair too much.
My whole point of this thread is that does the hyper engine have more power?
Well the hyper has good power, for a sport engine. It has a really tight pinch. BUt just to let you know in advance most that run a hyper 21 end up buying the OS RG carb, it really wakens up the engine and makes it able to hold a tune. So I dont know what to tell you if you already dont like the OS carb. Maybe look at a different engine then, or gamble on the hyper carb.

More rpm's dont always make it a better engine.
If I had to choose between those 2 engines I'd go OS because its just a better more reliable engine but the hyper may have more power but like was mentioned they are hit or miss even with an OS carb the quality is not up to par with OS and has a higher chance of failure.

I second the Novarossi 21BF as a good alternative. I'm most likley going to pick one of those up for my buggy over this winter and shelf my top end happy OPS.
hey revo2k if your carb is stiaying open a little then put a rubber band on the carb I did it and it works great. what you do is take a small rubber band and put it on the nipple of where the fuel line goes and on the tip of the low speed tip and it should close the carb quickly.

Didn't think of that....I'll give it a try....See, now this is what you guys are for!
I ran the hyper with the os carb and the hyper carb. I thought it ran better (fester, smother) with the hyper carb. the only problem is that the hyper carb doesn't hold a tune as well. you will have do some small adjustments every time you run it. With the os carb is like set it and forget it...
I'll agree with that. I started with the hyper carb, and everytime I ran it I had to readjust it, but now that I have the OS carb it stays the same everytime.
it just comes down to performance or ease of use. I used the hyper carb. I liked the way it hit harder on the bottom end.
I do run the TOP 21bf now, and it is well worth the extra money. JMO
Where would I be able to get the Novarossi at + specs?
