Is it a good deal to get the gen 2 wide track setup from ue for $169 with shock towers, a-arms, turnbuckles, hingepins and all the hardware to set it up? I may want some bling for my wasp maxx to soften the blow of selling off my O.S. maxx.
I'm assuming the UE parts would be a good investment, plus they hold their value a LOT better than most "upgrades". For a better opinion on the UE parts, check with Snakebite. He recently upgraded to UE, I think he's running the widetrack arms.
I dont' think DO-U-MAXX will be buying the wide track now.

snakebite is running full on EXT on his maxx.
Ahhh, I see.... Ignore my question on the Showme board, Mystery solved.....

I wasn't sure which setup Snake had, I just knew he went full Supermaxx..
Yeah I decided not to get the widetrack now

Thanks six for a great deal.
looks good!! man you didnt' mess around. lol! Ohh your front upper arm on the engine side looks like its on backwards in the pic. in the front the upper pillow ball should be behind the centerline of the arm it that makes sense. Rolleyes
yeah I was getting bothered by my 21 month old mechanic. I will check it out. I did want to ask about the suspension travel in the front, when you install the tie rods it really limits how it moves. Do you have any ideas?
yeah you may have to take some material off the edge of the steering draglink to clear the large 1/8 scale rod ends on the UE stff. you can see what I'm talking about in this pic.

Also make sure you have the it installed correctly. if you have a rod end flipped backwards it will limit the travel because the rod's ball has a shoulder on one side but not on the other. Also I believe the instrucitons have more info on getting the full travel but dremeling the head of a screw down making the head a smaller diamater. try to move the suspension up and down and look to see where its binding around the rod ends and go from there.
I will try that in a few days. Thanks

or sooner, I already did that. That did the trick.
Looks Sweet man!
Man I see alot of Sm parts in the future in our group. John' s got Racer X along with Do-U-maxx.
I know trip' sbeen talking about picking up more UE stuff......

Yes, I'm runnin EXT suspension. I'd like to upgrade to Racer in the rear and the high impact single arms in the front soon. And of course what SM would be complete without VBS.

Looks good !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
drool.. VBS... if that UE VBS JT hybrid setup was 7 series aluminum I'd buy one. Its a good deal but I'm a firm believer in 7075 for a flat buggy style chassis or nothing. I'll just bide my time and buy used on the UE forum or break out my 50 cal ebay sniper rifle when the time comes.. lol.
I put the order into slodsm from UE board for
UE Ti CVDs. $100
UE 8 spyder diffs (w/cases) $160
(2) Futaba 9350 digital servos (139oz, .12sec) $80
I'll be wanting racerX soon but most likely Dace bulks and motor mount next. Do shock towers come with RacerX kits?
Also is the new racerX kits ONLY 8mm or can you choose for the 6mm?
yes shock towers come with the Racer X. the racer X comes with 6mm bearings.. to run the 8's you would have to buy new bearings.
I see.................thanks
You need SB UE motor mounts ?

I got a set, like brand new

I don't neeeed, I just want Big Grin I use a dynamite unit that has taken many, many beatings. I've had it since before I met you Cool  I want a truck that works good overall and is durable, which mine is now, but going all supermaxx is just COOL! Big Grin
how good are those supershocks as comparted to the Big Bores I am running now. It would be cool to only run four shocks but is it worth it to change?
you can run 4 big bores. Just run 80wt oil with a little heavier spring in back. I used to run 4 1/10 scale shocks with trinity light blue springs up front and trinity blacks in the rear. It worked good. With your maxx the way it's set-up may work fine with the 4 big bores?
whats the diff between the stand alone limiters and the integrated ones??? Anyone here know. I want to get a set for the new x and i am not sure which one to buy.

nevermind, I already heard what I needed to know. Thanks anyways.
standalone attachment..

integrated..

mine from crispycrittershobbyshop.com came with both included. I use the integrated ones.

doh.. fixed the pic links so they are not the same..lol.
i dont know if your just showing that there is no differance...but both pics are the same...
lol.. yeah I screwed that up. its fixed now.. they are different. thanks for catching that. Smile
Yeah I will get the standalone's but UE does not take paypal....that sucks. I just added al skids and I wanted to get an idea of the weight with the new setup. Lookin at 6lb 2oz with no shocks, tires or hump pack. I should be in the low 8's complete.......very cool and lots of shiny stuff.
hump pack weighs roughly 4-5 oz.
4 shock setup weights roughly 4-5 oz.
each 40's w/bowtie weighs 2.40oz

for a total of 1.5 pounds roughly, I say roughly. I'm gunna guess with body, full tank of gas and all probably 9 pounds. Very very repectable. That's about where mine is and you have alot more metal.
