My freaking hands hurt like hell. I almost forgot how much a main in the arse it is to glue up maxx size stuff. 4 done, 4 to go.

If only there were more revo tires out there...
Those premounted CF's from Extreme Hobbies for $65 looks pretty good right about now, huh?
i hate revo tires. There so much more of a paine to glue. GOtta squirt the glue into the rim and slide the tire back into the rim while trying not to get the tire stuck before you can get it back in. Maxx size just life part of the tire up, squirt the glue and just make sure the tire seats down.
the only problem with the pre-mounted Crimes is the stock foam they put in them. Garbage
nevermind, these arent maxx sized
I feel ya brother!!!! I've been boiling my Boas off the narrowed Wabashes, throwing the old foams out, gluing up two part foams, sectioning/cleaning up the tires, putting in the 2" strapping tape, and remounting them for the last 2-3 hours!
its a lot more effective and easier to just bake the tires. Everytime ive done that the tire was already off the rim before i could even take the tires out of the oven. Little to no smell at all and just 100% effective.
everything you do is 100% effective and the best thing ever mich...lol

I actually copied your truck but it has a blue chassis...the "bleeevo"
the bleeevo? now thats just gay

jk little guy
Mount the tire up and use rubber bands to hold the bead on. then a small dab in four spots to secure the bead. Then you use alittle and let the glue move around the bead while your spinning the tire.

As far as removing tires, I use acetone and let them soak over night.
You guys hate glueing tires, I'll glue them up for you. I actually enjoy it and have gotten my technique down pretty good.
No charge, just buy the glue, (Fusion) and I'll do them over the weekend.
I've been using BSI IC-2000 tire glue(black CA) to glue up my stuff. Works great...super strong and doesn't turn white.

That's the stuff I use too. Good stuff Smile.
It's the only thing I couuld get to work well on aluminum rims.
You guys happen to notice that guy is from Highland Park, good deal for any of us because we are in the area. Save on shipping and pick them up.

EDIT: Nevermind I noticed that the guy is expecting the bidding to go as high as $600.00, I was gonna bid but I aint paying 600 for used tires.
he paid around $250 for them on ebay just a few weeks back. make him an offer he can't refuse....
Just got back from lh with my crimefighters Smile. I'll be at the race tommorrow with 3 sets of tires. I hope 1 of the 3 will work well, lol.

On a side note, I weighed them up too.

1 hurricane w/ python = 10.4 oz
1 maxx size velocity w/ bowtie = 7.4 oz
1 maxx size velocity w/ crime fighter = 7.1 oz.

Looks like the when I run with the pro-line stuff, I'll be saving like 12oz worth of unsprung weight!

Nah, I dont need that many tires, and I am to lazy to try to sell the ones I wont or cant use.
Hey, you guys mentioned either boiling in water, or baking to remove tires from rims. I have a cracked stock revo rim, and want to spare the tire, and just get new rims. Is this possible?

Boiling water, - no brainer on temp.

Baking in the over? What temp, and how long? Or was that sarcastic?
Hey another Naperville guy! Welcome!

Some guys do bake them off. They'll chime in here soon!

Welcome man!! Boiling is just that. Boiling them. I am not sure about baking time or temp but they are serious. I have heard a few stories of melting the tire though so it will be better to start at a lower temp and then go up if you need to. Like Dave said they will chime in shortly.

Snakebite... when I am done picking up all of this other crap for my revo (and decide to not be a cheap skate and buy used tires) I may hit you up on that glueing deal...
Where do you find this black CA mentioned?
I bake mine in a good preheated oven at 350 to 375 for about 7 to 9 min and just pull them out and pull them off. Becareful doing this they are HOT I use some mechanics gloves to pull them off.

If you still have some parts stuck on put them back in the oven for a couple min at a time and try again.

To get the rest of the CA off sometimes you can just peel it off or I used a nail file for your fingers to get the rest off while there still somewhat warm.

One of the other guys on here tried baking them off at 350, and almost burned down the house.. Go figure, he is a Fireman... lol

The higer temps could cause more smoke.

I bake my tires at 250-275 for about 15-20 minutes. When I pulled them out, I just pressed down on the edge of the tire, and it came free..
