Is it hard to cut up a maxx sixe tire to fit on a revo 3.8 rim? If not, does anyone have pictures of the finished product? How much do I cut? Any problems with the tires falling riping off the rim?

Thanks guys.
why not glue them on some sport maxx rims or proline velo rims?
ProLine website info for tires:
Crime Fighter MT Part #1121-00 $31.00/pr.
Tire Dimensions: 5.7"OD x 3.2"ID x 3.1"W Weight: 134g (Tire only)

Is the Hurricane wider than 3.1" or narrower?

AMain info:

NOTE: These rims will only work with Revo compatible tires, such as the Traxxas Responce and Panther Python tires. They can work with Pro-Line 40 Series tires if you modify the rim somewhat, but they are not a direct fit. These rims will also not work with standard T-Maxx monster truck tires such as the Pro-Line Maxx Bow Tie or Panther Meat Grinder.

So is it the wheel or the tire that gets modded?
for standard maxx tires or revo specific tires on 40 series rims you need to .....cut both

for maxx tires on revo rims ...cut tires

Personally Tune I would run maxx rims with the crimes so you get a perfect fit. The offset will make your truck a hair wider but you may like it! I do! Just make sure you don't use "offset" wheels that will make your truck TOO wide
and techincally (sp?) cut tires are illegal.... :p: Wink
actually rocco it is legal

Tires - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Must be rubber only and currently available to the public (i.e. in hobby shops at least 2 weeks prior to event) as a Monster Truck tire. No tires created for other vehicle types even if they fit the specifications will be allowed. Cutting or modifying the tread is allowed. Modifying the tire carcass by sectioning or narrowing is prohibited. Due to the varying sizes of wheels available for Monster Trucks it IS legal to trim the mounting bead of a tire produced for the Monster Truck class to make it fit a Monster Truck rim. Example - Bowtie on a REVO wheel. All tire measurements reference the carcass dimensions and does not include the tread depth or width.
Tire diameter- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Minimum - 5.1" (mounted)
Tire width - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Minimum - 2.75"(mounted)
I thought maxx wheels didn't fit the revo.
they fit just fine, they may bind with the long travel rockers tho but thats not gonna be a problem for us.
The only issue I noticed with maxx size rims on my Revo is that they rub the lower front a arm's a little. I don't know if this has to do with the RPM a arms being a little beefier than the stock arms? It isn't bad enough for me to worry about since the wear on the arms seem minimal.
no thats just a bad design with rpm. Ive noticed that on all the rpm a-arm equiped revo's ive seen but the same tires and rims on a stock arm revo will be just fine. They will likely never touch in each's life time.
Thats an old copy of the rules... the rule of tires having to be in hobby stores before the event doesnt apply anymore.
And i was i was told at a pro series event that bead modifying is illegal now
well they cant be because that was taken right off there own website so untill thats changed i think the rule doesnt apply yet. Even if somebody was to show up at a race and they wouldnt let him race because he was using cut bow ties they would still have to let him race because according to there website it still states you can do it.
YEah I ran into the same problem running RPM arms. Its the arm design.
Just tellin ya what i know lil fella.... I dont anybody at a DD race could give a rats ass.... Just sharing what ive picked up
running cut beads is legal, cut carcasses are illegal. meaning you cannot narrow a tire by cutting it down the center and removing some of the middle. Sorry, hard to explain

That's what I gathered anyway.
