Need input. I was running the hyper for a gallon now and pick up another used RG of eBay. Which one is better anyway?

I don't want to spend alot for this buggy atm. Its primary just for bashing until I can get my hand on truggy conversion kit. By the way, it is a Jammin X1CR.

Fixing it up for Berwyn Bash! Cool
Hyper 8 port will bolt right onto the chassis no problem because of the tiny pullstart assembly but hyper's are hit or miss as far as quality. the OS RG has a pull start assemble that is soo gigantic it might require some good shiming and dremel work to get it to work but OS RG"s are really good reliable engines.
My hyper 8 runs fine ever since I got the new carb.
I just ordered a brand new pull start and one way bearing. I got rip off (Bastard!) by the seller. Oh well, there will be another week until I can test the RG out.

Oh yeah, the hyper runs just fine. Just PITA during break in.
I'd run the hyper, more power :racing:

I have a one way that I don't need anymore for a hyper 8 port. I'll bring it and you can have it at the bash.
my hyper was fast as hell.....
take the carb off the rg and put it on your hyper, it will make tuning much less painful

Gabe, thanks for the offer. My hyper's bearing works just fine right now, what I need the the bearing for RG. Bought one yesterday so I am all set.
my jeep.

yes very serious, that has been the fix for the Hypers since they came out....

A agree 100% with that. the biggest downfall of the hypers is their carbs. Once in a while you get a good hyper carb but its very comon to see OS or RB carbs on Hypers.
Ahh, thanks for the tip guys.

I am going to put the RG's carb on Hyper after I CA glue the dust cover back. LoL ( I teared it of while cleaning the engine)

One more question. Which needles setting should I follow after switching the RG's carb to Hyper 8 Ports?
I am assuming the motor is broke in, a good start point is 2 1/2 turns out on the high and for the low about 1/2 turn in from flush
when in doubt lean it out.
Ok mr a new engine every month
its Mr. 2 months. get it right next time.
