I'm going to to tell you now the race proven .21's are stronger than any .18 . I'll let you drive my revo to make you a believer! lol Our problem will be traction or wheelies, that's where you will smoke us all day! Smile
i know there faster but im just talking about comparing them to see how much of a difference there really is. I hear people talk about them being as fast and ive said that in the past so im not denying it. I just want to see in a drag race were they all stand. Its not gonna be a huge difference but there probly will be a pretty big one.
my carb only opens 75% right now. I still need to master the throttle bellcrank positioning.
well quick being a post whore and fix your damn revo already. You dont get stuff done by just telling everyone about it. Geez its like you dont even want to try and race me. LOL Just messing with ya.
I know you guys realize that top speed is determined by engine rpm, gearing, and tire diameter right? I'd say allow each guy a few chances to set his gearing for a predetemined length of track. Rc drag racing is not off road rc racing.

I'll take that challenge Tex, I'll run a 17t/36t with a wide ratio running stock Talons over a 400' straight. I think my modded TZ has the rpms.
Tex Wrote:your VZB will be killer! We need to drag race.

Somebody call the producers over at Pinks!!
That would be the shit if we were on there.....call them for us
Race is on! Berwyn here we come!
count me in. Should be a blast.
so tex now that the revo is done you going to make it out to st louis for oktoberfest! i wanna see this thing before the bash!
Oh it's on alright!!!
nope, If I go anywhere it'll be to Cinci for a race fest! I haven't been there yet and want to check it out

Just remember, the loser has to hand over his truck to the winner.

And I think to myself watching that show, "If I just lost my race car to some other guy, why wouldn't I just drop it in neutral, floor it and blow that motor apart, then hand him the keys?" I'd probably slam the trans into reverse doing 50mph for good measure, too.

Not that I'm a poor loser or anything! Big Grin
I never saw the point of drag racing. Sure, pure power and traction are exciting, but I think the "there & back" format is better, putting more emphasis on a car and the driver's ability to accel, brake, & turn.
thats all were doing in the drag race is just seeing overall power of these motors against each other. We already know me and tex can race on a track so now we want to compare our trucks speed with different motors and gearing.
That would be a interesting race to watch thats for sure!!!
Come to the Berwyn Bash and you can have front row
Hadnt planned on it... Might try and get that day off and come out and watch you guys!!!
get to plannin' ..... Trust me you will dig the bashes, they are fun

I understand you an Tex racing; it's general drag racing I don't appreciate so much.

Should be a fun day of various activities. Have they ever done a simple "race track" on the grass and run any 'fun' races at your bashes? Or is it more for jumps, drags, and 'just showin' off' ?
its just a relaxed day of bs'ing with people and just running the rc's. Anything goes.

Mostly the last half...the Joliet car show had a small track set up which was cool, but the Berwyn stuff is mostly a free for all.

If everyone that has them can throw their orange cones in the car, maybe we can lay something out and race a bit!
all I see at that point is cones everywhere! Unless they are bolted down!
Not with all those experienced racers there Big Grin
