A while back, I guess the front bearing on my CV-RX went out which caused the engine to go WOT for several seconds, and break in on the engine went terrible. I got the package back today... Hobby Services sent me a brand new CV-RX :joy: :joy: :joy:

There is also another package that should be here in the next couple days, I can't wait!

I need a new servo horn because the one that comes with the spektrum/JR servos in the DX3 kit is too small, so the linkage lock things rub, which is why my brakes suck. I went to the LHS with the servo twice and they tried JR, Hitec, and Airtronic servo horns on it but none of them fit.

I don't have any fuel either, sooo odds are my truck wont be ready by sunday... but if it is, I'll let you know. I'm debating on using a different fuel in this CV-RX, because several people told me that the oil mix in Trinity is mostly synthetic which isnt good for the bearings. Any comment on this Tex?
I f you do a heat cycle break in you wouldn't need to have your radio gear up right away.
Just follow the heat cycling instructions. Seems like that would be the best method. Last time I broke in a motor I just "took it easy" for 5 tanks. People get too crazy with break in methods IMO and cause newer people to screw things up when they try that method! Does more harm than good. Just be smart about it,

heat the motor before you start it. Hair dryer for a couple minutes at least

run tank one at 0-1/4 throttle (gas, brake, gas, brake, gas, brake).

run tank two at 0-1/2 throttle but only do 1 second 1/2 throttle runs. Don't lay on it......yet.

now I would charge my receiver pack from going "gas/brake" so much.

run tank three at 0-1/2 throttle but lay on it for 2-3 secs at 1/2 throttle.

run tank four at 0-3/4 throttle, 3/4 throttle for only a second

run tank five at 0-3/4 throttle but lay on 3/4 throttle for 2-3 secs.

run tank six from 0-FULL throttle.

Tune the motor throughout as needed keeping it a bit rich yet keep the temps above 200F

I've never had a bearing failure in ANY motor I've ever owned!
Trinity fuel works great for me, that's why I use it. I don't care what kind of lube is in it. Smile
heres a good article on how to do the heat cycle. http://www.rcuniverse.com/magazine/artic...cle_id=397

Now there is a break-in I can follow Cool
Sounds just like Traxxas 2.5 break in card.
lol.....I know! That's how I break in my motors, seems to work
