I have two engines that I'm a) trying to identify, b) wanting to find manuals for, and c) wanting to setup to be spares. All I know about they is their HPI engines and they say k12 on the side.

Anyway, until I get the info I need what's the best way to store them so corrosion etc. doesn't ruin them?
A healthy dose of after run in them, and a light coating of wd-40 on the outside. Then put them in a zip lock bag
+1
Would they be safe without a glow plug and air filter?
well, your putting them in a zip lock bag right?

Just givin ya a hard time rcdad!!! That way will be fine. Thats the way my novarossi engine came(No Plug /Air filter) and if its good enough for them its more than enough for me
I called HPI today to find out what parts I need, then I shopped around for the best price. Altogether to get these two Novarossi 12R engines ready it will only cost me $75.00.

That's not bad for two spare engines! And from what I've read, they are probably as good as a T-15.
