The thing is that it's just sad that the cub fans need to resort to the "plate smack" as bad sportsmanship to make Barret taking a swing seem less wrong. The whole thing is rediculous. AJ plowed Barret because he was blocking the plate. He was not wrong in any way by doing so. He smacked the plate, big deal. I can see almost anyone doing the same thing given the rivalry. The fact that he took a step foreward before starting to head to his bench should not have been enough for Barret to grab him. If someone grabbed me I would have said something too, and I'm sure AJ did. Barret took a swing, that didn't phase AJ, and AJ walked away. That is it..... there is no "oh well he shouldn't have hit the plate". That is BS..... It doesn't matter though. When the cubs make up the 12 or so full games they are behind the sox they can talk again.... Until then we should have silence for a few years. To bad they will never shut up....
