If it is the Orion system it will not work with AMB. Orion uses an Infrared light system to count laps. Here's the data from Orion site.

The lap-counting unit (receiver) uses Infra-red (IR) light to communicate with the vehicle transmitting unit.
· Counts lap times within 1/100th of a second
· LCD backlit display, displays best lap, individual lap times, total race time.
· Adjustable target lap time.
· Sound signal to indicates: start , each lap, best lap, laps under target time, end of the practice.
· 100 different transponders available, counting system can be adjusted to work with any transponder.
