Why was this engine discontinued?

Anyone know why the HPI's Nitro Star Pro .12R was discontinued?

Think so? I notice there is a .12R SC now. Perhaps it is just oudated.

I called HPI, they said that was one of the best Novarossi engines they ever had.

Only problem is it's a starter box motor....guess it's time to figure out how to use that new start box.

novarossi engine? I was never aware that the HPI .12's were NR, that's a new one for me.

Yeah, did some reading up on that, I guess they make (or made) engines for HPI.

My RS4 SS has the 12 SS pullstart and I gotta tell ya that thing starts like magic! They claim this carbide coating is slick and makes it easier to pull through, and so far I can't argue. The only thing I will say is that I've yet to find the real sweet tune on it, but it's fairly new yet. In comparison to our other RS4 with the T15 engine, the 12SS walks it.

I wish mine had a pull-start, the guy at HPI said you would have to change alot to make it that way.

That's on the Super Nitro? Doesn't Picco support that as a PS?
