Steering Servo? Fast or strong? What's better? -

If you're going to go to a single servo setup in the Revo, how much torque do you need, really? To get massive torque you sacrifice speed. I ask y'all this:
Should you buy a fast servo with acceptable torque, or a stronger one with less speed? Thanks, and while you're at it, post your favorites with prices and where to buy. Man, I just want everything, don't I?

for a good steering servo its better if you dont cheap out and get something that just works. You want at least .10 speed and 140oz of torque. Ive been running the airtronics 94359z servo since winter and i cant say enough about this servo. Never once gave me a problem, always provided awesome speed with a lot of torque. Its 129 dollars and worth every penny. Its got a built in heat sink to help prolong your servo's life. If you got the money definatly pick it up, if not sell something and pick it up lol. http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...oducts_id=2454

if your talking about the 358 then i wouldnt get that. The 359 is an all metal geared servo, the 358 has 1 plastic and the rest metal. Altho you can buy the gearset from the 359 and make the 358 all metal but you still dont have the heatsink. In the long run it would just be a lot easier to get the 359.

the difference is heat sink and the 358 has 1 plastic gear inside. I noticed between the 2 that my 359 seems a lot more smoother and faster. I have the 358 on throttle and 359 on steering. 359 feels a lot better compared to when i had the 358 on steering. The 358 is an awesome servo as well but just doesnt have that comfortable feel like the 359 has. Kinda hard to explain but its like how some people like the feel of certain radio's this servo to me is like an m8 spektrum difference over an xs3. Just so much faster and smoother and problem free.

Ok, I see the 358z has 2 metal & 1 plastic gear. For $4.50 I can swap the plastic gear for a metal gear, making the only difference (that I see) the heatsink. Total cost $99 vs $129. Is the heatsink that valuable to the life of the servo if you're not racing every day?

I am sure they have their purpose, but then I have never had a servo feel overly warm after a race. So i see no need for them.
You can also check out the hitec titanium geard ones, they are fast and plenty of torque and have a heat sink and can be had for around 99.00. Alot of people have had great success with them. I have one in my box NIB I keep as a spare. Also if you are already running a hitec you wont have to change your servo horns. Also if you go to amain hobbies they have Ace servos, and they are suppose to be really good and are like 75.00 and 95.00 deoending on which one you get. I am almost sure Joe t runs them in his buggy and his LSP.

OK, it sounds like airtronics might be the big dog in this yard. I search Ebay and I find this Sanwa servo, being listed with Airtronics as the name. Who knows the deal behind the Sanwa name? Is it the same item with a different label?

Add another Airtronics user to the list
 Im using the 94359z (.10 speed, 200oz) on steering and the 94357 (.07speed, 130oz) on throttle/brake. I used to have Hitec's, that is untill I had many go bad, including two digital ones, one of which caused a runaway  I love these Airtronics, havent had any problems since
