keeping bodies on? -
07-28-2005, 10:16 AM
Does anyone here have any special things they do to their bodies or somethin to keep the bodies on. With my maxx, even with 4 body clips in, the smallest jumps throw off the body, usually losing some body clips too. In the last 2 weeks I lost 20 body clips, and having the body constantly come off is kind of annoying.

You can get locking body clips, they help a lot. Also, to keep the body from ripping through the clips, they have body washers. If you can't find the body washers, you can always make a few from the extra lexan when you paint a new body.

Sounds like the body clips you are using are too small and are loose when attached. Won't take much for them to fall out. Get some thicker body clips (or the locking kind) for a more secure fit and it will cure your problems.

you just need quality clips or quit crashing
![]() I like the "Serpent 1/8 scale body clips" ,They are the strongest clip and don't fall out easy at all, yet they are easy to pull out. The locking clips aren't the easiest to put in/take out. |

if ur dont need to take ur body off to start i or anythign while ur running it take a small ziptie and fasten it around the open ends of the body clip after u put it on. It will pinch it tighter and will prevent it from backing out

I used to use some steel rod and redrilled the holes in the body posts.. here is a pic of what I'm talking about on my old JT Supermaxx Hybrid I used to have...
http://home.comcast.net/~sixvi6-camaro/JTmaxx_10.jpg Also if the long one still came off or I wanted to be sure the body stayed on I'd put a linkage collar on the end. If I didn't do the long single body clip I use extra large 1/8 scale body clips. http://home.comcast.net/~sixvi6-camaro/JTmaxx_12.jpg 1:1.. 01 Z28 Camaro A4 Sure.. its stock. 1:8's..
