People here will tell you to stay away from it. I have heard complaints starting when it first came out about breaking parts and twitchy handling.
But it depends on your deal and if you want to actually race it. |

Gabe did u ever own one?
i just had one. when i first got it there was hardly any steering. but when you work with the setup, they turn fine. mine had tons of steering. my only complaint would be the diffs. they only last like 2 weeks. But thats prolly because i was running a Novarossi 528 in it. I would go with the LSP diffs. they are nearly bulletproof. dont judge something unless you've owned it. IMO there are too many backseat drivers on this board. but thats just my .02 |

OK...well i had one. turn...nope. mabey it turns for you meat if you are used to a revo, but drive a kyosho or mugen and then tell me that hellfire turns, it was a rushed design from hpi and it shows everywhere in the truck.

Tune raced his for while, and I suspect Tex has firsthand experience associated with Tune's truck. They are scarely raced for a reason. Flavor of the Month got some buyers in them, but even the Jammin CRT or the LSP are still raced more than Hellfires, and both were out before it. I've never owned one, but I have read and listened to enough real info to believe that I would not buy one. I'm not telling you not to buy one, but I would not myself. There are better platforms to invest in. |

Well then Meat why did ya sell it then? Yeah it blows diffs and don't turn, BUT you bought it anyway? I'm not gonna tell him not to buy it, cause if it's gonna be for bashin fine then, if it's cheap enough that's even better. Cheesecake, who much is a good deal? PM sent to ya.

The Hellfire may not be the best racer, but as a basher it looks pretty solid. Especially if you are getting the SS kit. In the kit a lot of the original Hellfire issues have been upgraded from the rtr version. What you guys are saying about it not being a racer is the same to be said about nearly all rtr's. I am sure with the same tlc and tuning given to any other kit it can be competitive.
Now as a basher, there was one person I saw at Busse Sunday just beating the livin crap out his hellfire. Jump after jump, crash after crash, it just kept going. It looked pretty tough and I may get one for myself instead of an lsp. Tower's prices on the kit are pretty damn good. Quote:
