running BL with AM radio? - 07-05-2005, 12:26 PM

Would it be bad to run a BL with an AM radio because i was thinking about getting the GTB Racing Brushless System and i dont know if there is much point of getting it before a spektrum radio system because my car already starts to glitch a little when i drive my car 150 ft away. so i was wondering if i should get the spektrum first or if it doesnt matter.

i would buy the better radio first if i was you. Once you buy a good radio you only have to buy recievers for any new cars you get. You can always buy good motors anytime you want but i would definatly get the radio first.

The Novak system is known for glitching. The receiver picks up alot of ..... whatever (not sure). Anyway, aluminum foil blocks alot of it.

You probably know this but you can save alot of money buying the remanufactured BL systems on Novak's site.

since the spectrum uses a 2.4 ghz i think it protects from glitching so i think im going to get the spektrum first so i have a question how do you take off the old reciever i think its glued to my chassis. i asked my bro and he said use piano wire or something and like try and get under it and rip it off. do you guys have any tips???

It should have servo tape under it, but if it doesn't, just take your time and don't screw up. Seriously, if you're junking it anyway, why worry about getting it off cleanly? Just don't break anything on the chassis. If you can get under it, the wire sounds like a fine idea.

BTW, the aluminum foil trick RCDad uses will prevent the FBI and NSA from tracking your car from satellites!

The FBI and NSA are always on my tail!

I've had to carefully remove receivers like that, it can take awhile. I always use industrial strenth velcro.

Then you should NOT get an I-Pass !!! You might want to keep your cell phone in tin foil too!

The building I work in, you need an electronic card to go anywhere. I was surprised how easy it was to pull those records. Big brother is always watching!
