Team Associated announces 1/8 Offroad Team

As though there were any need for confirmation that Team Associated plans to release a 1/8-scale off-road buggy, here's your confirmation----AE's press release announcing their 1/8 buggy team for 2007.

Team Associated Announces 1/8th Offroad Race Team
Costa Mesa, CA – January 1, 2007 – As the dawn of a New Year breaks, Team
Associated has drawn on the knowledge of its unprecedented 20 IFMAR World
Championships to create the highly anticipated Factory Team RC8. This is
Associated’s first venture into 1/8th scale offroad racing and they are looking to make
an immediate impact.

Set to lead the Worldwide racing campaign for the RC8 are current ROAR 1/8th Scale
National Champion, Ryan Maifield, two-time IFMAR World Champion Ryan
Cavalieri and multi-time U.S. National Champion, Richard Saxton. In addition,
ROAR “A” main finalist JR Mitch and Kyle Skidmore will focus on regional events
and select National contests in the United States.

Joining these drivers, with the support of CML Distributing, are current IFMAR World
Champion, Neil Cragg and “Mr. Everything” Craig Drescher. Also representing
Team Associated and the RC8, with the assistance of Thunder Tiger Europe, are
EFRA European Champions Peter Pinisch and Jörn Neumann.

I was just looking at the CEN truggy. Doesnt look to bad IMO. And at $500 for the kit. Makes it even better. A friend of mine I used to race with was with GS and just jumped over to CEN so I know he will have one soon if not already.

But with so many players on the market with truggy's. It is going to get interesting.

Me? yes and no. With my last comment,that was my point in this thread.

I wouldnt mind seeing what this thing can do. Not saying I am going to jump ship from mugen just yet. But it took AE this long to do something. So they must have done their homework. ALOT of homework.

But forgive me on not being up to date on who is with who and such.
But what is with the tiger thunder part there? All their drivers going to AE? Are the two like sister companies or something?

Thunder tiger owns associated, thats the main reason now why they are going to be coming out with a new buggy and such. The factory for TTR, saxton maifield skidmore and JR mitch are all going to AE the other drivers will have the option of running either car
