Question Diff Problem on my XXXT - 05-24-2005, 10:11 AM

Hey,
i was tightening my diff yesterday and all of a sudden something popped and my diff gear wasnt meshing with the other gears. so i took it apart and the screw that holds everything together came out. so i tried for like three hours trying to screw the thing back in but it seems like the screw that holds the diff together. and the spring in the diff wont compress at all i stepped on it with a piece of wood and it dented the wood. do you guys know any tricks on how to get the diff to screw in. thanks

This may sound basic but is the nut on the other side?

Go here then go to page 4

I think you are missing A2911 the nut its held in a little plastic carrier thats easy to lose. If the little plastic thing is there check to see that the nut didn't fall out. Or make sure that the nut can reach the screw. Some times you stick the screw in and it bumps the nut back, out of reach of the screw. Also make sure that the treads are still good.

If you know the screw and nut are good make sure you have it put together right then try again.

Looks like the same diff thats in my xxx-nt.

i have the diff nut. but i realized that the problem was that i stripped the screw. so thats why it seemed lke it wasnt catching. but the wierd thing is that the whole reason why i tried tightening the diff is because when i would spin my left wheel forwards then the right wheel would start to spin backwards but then after it turned a little it would start to go forward. does anyone know what might of caused that. and i ordered a the new diff nut today off of horizon. does anyone know how long it takes for them to ship it
