Better brakes for a buggy? -
09-08-2006, 10:31 AM
Need some recommendations here folks. Got a Jammin X1cr pro kit and while the brakes work okay, those high speed stops kill it.
Vented, fiber, etc...good and bads. Even stuff I can do to the stock metal disk would be great. Did a few high speed passes with the 15t clutchbell last night and by the end of the 4th stop my brakes were already fading. Dont' know how fast the car was going, certainly winding out less than it was before. Think I'll either go back to the 13t, or try the 13t again with a slightly smaller spur. They didn't have a 14t when I asked. Little Toys: Hyper One Seven | Inferno GT | Jammin X1cr | Jammin CRT Pro | 1989 Batmobile Replica |

High speed passes on the street or track?

Well, these were on the street. I don't think would have faded so quickly at LH on the dirt track as I woudln't have been on them for nearly as long or hard.
I actually had to adjust my bias and increase the servo travel adjustments on my transmitter to get brakes back when they were hot. Let them cool down and stopped running because I didn't want to destroy the pads. I still have plenty of pad left they were just really hot. you could buy some cradock brakes, those are supposed to be the best or you could get some avid indo's which are supposed to be really good as well

Got with the avid ones. Don't forget to remove the brake pad material from the metal pads.
