Hot bodies Lightning Pro - 03-10-2005, 11:36 PM

I picked up a HB Lightning Pro last week. Sweet looking truggy!!! I cant believe this thing is a hot bodies product. Almost everything is beefy and oversized !!! I put my Sh .28 motor in it and a couple of upgraded servos (steer hitec 645, thr/brake jr z590) the servos arent great but there better than stock. I also replaced the wheels and foams right off the bat with proline and trinity three stage foam.
I finally drove this beast lastnight at LH. As with any new ride i have to get used to such a wide , long truggy (keep your minds outta the gutter :p ) It was much easier to drive than my gs SUT , just seemed more stable. It also jumps extremly easy and very far with little throttle.
As with any truck it does have a few weak spots . The front hinge pin brace is weak and i knew about this from other fourms and threads and sure enough i shorted the triple infront of the drivers stand and snapped it . I ran 3 more tanks before i even noticed anything was wrong. The rear brace it so thick it help the truck together with little affect on handling. The good news is most all stock kyosho parts fit this truck so my buddy Dirtdawg had a brace and a hinge pin to replace the bent one and i was back running after a little tweaking. (thanks to bernie, george, brian and chris.... and the guy with the vise grips ) K-Factory hinge pins in route as i write this!
Other than that this truck took all my poor driving ability abuse and kept on coming. Im very happy with this truggy.
Also,Tower also had almost very part of about 15 things i though i should have x-tras of (hubs, hinge pins, turnbuckles ...ect) Another great thing is the parts are CHEAP!!!!!!!!! I dont think anything was over 5 bucks!!!! Very cool. I hope i learn this truck quick so i can run it on saturday nights and not only finish a unlimited race but maybe place!!! (Fingers crossed!)

Nice work on picking up that truck dude. I'll be racing you in unlimited.... We shall see what the outcome will be. Seems like a lot of people are getting unlimited trucks now.

I know john, i absolutley despise hot bodies Savage hop up parts ! But from what ive read they dont make the lightning pro. They just re-bage it ..... like gm and the GT slOwwww! (hahahaha) Or like ofna and how hao-bo makes some of there buggies. I think this truck has so realy possiblities!

I look foward to racin ya in this class too tex!
