2 out of 3 trucks done! - 02-23-2005, 05:26 PM

Well I had three trucks to build and two are done.

I got the stock based Dom built and ready to sell. I ran it to make sure it's good to go and what do you know it runs flawless. It's a pretty fun truck actually. I bet it would do ok in the U.MT class at Leisure. From the time I got it I tore it all apart and rebuilt it. It has some decent hopups on it too. Needless to say I'm happy with it.

This is what I really want to talk about, the Predator SM. Man does this thing haul ass. Wheelies anywhere on command with the Sirio.18. It weighs in at 8.8lbs RTR. Not the lightest but almost 1LB lighter than when it was almost a full SM. It's a fairly decent setup IMO. Heres what it has:

Ti turnbuckles

Sirio.18/sirio pipe/CNR head

Bowties/Velos/ CP body

Pred chassis/UE braces

RPM a-arms/knuckles/ bulk braces

TRX Al. pillowballs

TRX Al. PB retainers

Proline shock towers

AE shocks (4) w/ 1/8 scale springs, rod ends, retainers (Chitownitro's old shocks, I just put the 1/8 scale stuff on)

TRX FOC tranny (from LRM1 ....Tony1034)

TRX carbon fiber brakes

Al. wheel hexes

Hardcore Ti skids

Powerline bulks

stock diffs/ driveshafts

I soooo happy with this truck. I think it will be less maintanance than it was before and I think it'll do good on the track too. I almost want to go tomorrow so I can try it at Leisure. I know out in front of the house it FLYS. It's not as fast as the P2 but I'm totally satisfied and happy with the speed it has.

First time I really got on it, it wheelied right away so I let off and feathered it a little, then gunned it. As soon as it hit second, BOOM, up on two wheels again. I was flabergasted to say the least. I do know that the shocks were too stiff then so I'm sure it was like ridin' on a lever so that helped it wheelie (not that I was trying to). I lightened the shocks up greatly (like my SM was) and it still pulls the wheels whenever I want (if traction is there).

I just can't say enough about what I think of this truck right now

Thanks for listening

p.s. the Dom hybrid will have an update as soon as it's done and tested.

Having fun again!!!!
