Fav RC!! - 05-03-2006, 04:15 PM

I am starting a thread so you can talk about you favorite rc and why, also to discuss short comings and things you would change to make them or another RC better. I have gotten my TTR EB4-S3together and have been comparing it to my kyosho K3, ( 777sp2) <friends, there are some things i really like and dislike on both

TTR/pros- i really like that it has all captured hinge pins (no e-clips) , the laydown steering servo is really nice too, and it also uses the same engine mount system that kyosho uses so i can take the engine off with worring about having to reset the gear mesh. The pillow ball suspension is nice also, coupled with how the shock is enclosed in the upper arm really makes for a durable front suspension.
/cons- the metal used for the kit really sucks, but most people that race usually replace most of these parts with aftermarket anyhow, but it would be really nice to have a decent stock parts to start with. The stock tunnel chassis while a inovative idea, makes the chassis too stiff and and not race friendly, ( im sure you might be able to race really well with the tunnel chassis, but its very difficult to dail in a good setup) i think that is fixed with the flat chassis conversion kit.

Kyosho/pros- obviously they are known for there durablity, and the design is basically a template for most 1/8 scale buggies today, i will say that the the material used is is pretty good and is good enough for racing, but not bullet proof but better than most, the diff are known for there durablity as well.
/cons- i dont really care for the e clip hinge pins(but some people like them), the steering servo setup just seems like there is alot of wasted energy becuase how its setup, the stock shock kits seem to be no so durable and often leak after extended use (this can be fixed with different build techniques, or is sometimes cause by poor shock building techniques)

remember these are just my observations and opinions doesnt make them true or fact in any right, so remember that before you decide to blast me for something i said that might have offended you. So lets hears about some other RC's. I think this thread will be helpful to those thinking about purchasing a particular rc and may have some questions about them.
