With stock shocks, I would suggest running 30-40wt oil. You don't want to go too thick with the stock shocks, it will cause too much pressure, and the plastic shock caps can pop off pretty easily.

A GREAT upgrade for the shocks, is to pick up 2 pair (4 total) of REAR 1/8th scale Buggy shocks. They are a lot more durable, and you can run 4 shocks rather than 8. This saves a little weight, and also makes the suspension a little more predictable.

Rear ones are way to long... they will over extend the arms. Front ones are a bit to short, but it won't over extend.

It might depend on what rear ones you buy, but OFNA 9.5 rear shocks are too long.

you can get some 1/8 scale shocks used, just search for a deal. But yeah, the rears are way to long and the fronts don't allow your chassis to bottom out because they are too short. You need aftermarket shock towers that have many different mounting positions to really utilize 1/8 scale shocks on a t-maxx. (I've been through this route already)

I used rear 1/8th scale shocks on my Maxx because they were longer...in a cartwell type crash, they are long enough to let the arms extend fully w/o breaking off the shock ends. But Tex is correct, you need more mounting options to get full compression w/o bottoming out the shafts in the shock body. If you run cvd's you may need to use external travel limiters to keep them from coming out of the diff cups, but it really depends on the type of arms your running.

Those will work....or you can get supermaxx towers used off the UE board for around $30 shipped. Save $20 and have (IMO) better towers. FLM is pretty good stuff though.
