New Bow tie MT - 04-06-2006, 03:40 PM

Anyone running these tires yet. I just got a set, they are about 1/4 narrower than normal bow ties. The only problem I am having is foam selection. I have the re foams in 1 tire so far and it makes the side wall protrude to much and flattens the carcass of the tire. The stock foam still extends the side wall too much for my likeing and this foam makes the tire more round.

Just wondering what foams anyone has had sucees with.

P.S. Please dont tell me to trim the foams, I understand that part.....

George-
Im thinking of mounting the beads to the inner part of the wheel... This seems to narrow and round the carcass nicely.

Hope this helps!

I heard nothing but good things about these new BT MT's. People seem to have had great success at Silver State with them. Are they pretty light as well George?

they are light and about 1/4th smaller than normal bow ties.

The fix for them is to glue them on the inside of the wheel beads.

Tex, you glue the sidewall to the edge of the wheel bead then. The end result is a nice rounded tire, that you wont get alot of sidewall roll.

maybe even skinnier than Crime MT's? I bet they are lighter also. Those are my next set of tires.

I see what you mean on gluing them up George! that sounds like a kick ass way to do it. Sounds complicated to get it 100% perfect though.

Dave they are the same width as CF's. 2.72" verses the stock 3.3 bow ties.

Well I changed my mind and mounted them on the str wheels, so I cut the inside bead of the kyosho wheels and glued them that way and in the stock bead on the outside. SO I am going to run a set of stock(old Bow ties) on the crt wheels but glued as I described above
