Mayhem Buggy - 11-14-2004, 05:44 PM

Ok after a little mishap breaking in the mayhem... I got a chance to put the new control arm on today... and tryed the buggy out in my yard.

First impressions: Holy @#$! this thing is fast! 3 tanks of gas back there and its shredding my lawn! it actually throws a rooster tail! Steering is not especially tight turning but it drives very strait and seem more precise then the revo. Wow this thing slides! I know it will be faster through the turns. Jumping was good, although i dont have anything like the cross over at leisure in my yard, as long as i didnt get on the gas too hard it was good.

Needless to say im chomping at the bit to try it at leisure, Maybe L8r I will take some pics of it, its really pretty trick looking for a rtr.

the same importer that brings in GS and JR is bringing in this buggy. When I spoke to the peeps at Al's they said they are pressing this as a better buggy then the GS storm racing version, and as an RTR was even a bonus...

nice buggy

From the pics above, it doesn't look like the mach .26. On my motor, the cooling head is cylindrical. That one has grooves on the sides.

Take some closeups on that engine. Lets find out what you have.

My Blog <-- Could this be the new Chitown R/C color scheme? You decide!

Heres some close ups.......looks like it could be a massaged mach .26, milling those groves is a simple way to make it look little diffrent....but there is a S on the one side and 26C on the other.... Take a look....

It could very well be a Mach .26. The S is for Sportwerks. In many cases, engines are made by one company for multiple companies. The Werks P3 is the EXACT same as the Ofna outlaw .26 and the Team Orion Wasp .26. Another example, the Orion Wasp .28 and the Peak Diablo .28 are the same engine. They all carry different side stamps for the different companies, but are the exact same engine. Dynamite could have made the Sportwerks .26 and put the S logo on the side.

correct me if I am wrong, but by milling the head like that, I believe that you increase surface area, and as such increase the efficiency of the cylinder head. It's kind of like wave cut rotors on high end motor cycles, it increases surface area.

Sounds resonable to me...but my guess is the did it to make it look diffrent. Oh i took the mayhem to leisure last night.... Very Nice. It has sooo much power it doesnt take much throttle for the crossover jump...not used to that...
