Painting Bodies - 10-14-2004, 09:43 AM

I just picked up a new body for my Savage. I got a stock unpainted Savage SS kit body, I figured I'd go cheap on my first one, just in case things dont turn out so hot, lol.

Anyone have any tips on painting? What paints are the best? What to use, airbrush, spray paint, etc...?

Im thinking of doing a paint scheme similar to this:

You can go here for almost all you need to know

http://www.rctech.net/articles/paint...ntedmyst.shtml

For that particular paint job, you'll want candy apple green, silver or chrome (chrome would look better) and black. You want to use R/C specific paint like Pactra racing colors or FasKolors. Paint from the hardware store will just fall off the body when it gets whacked.

HauntedMyst - Welcome to the board! I recognize your name from
other boards. That's an excellent article you wrote. I have refered
several people to it.

check out pics of your rides in the video/pics section. all i have to use is straight rattle cans. i used some kind of flame mask on my rubicon. along with xxx main picture glue for the jp magazine logos. i try to do some nice stuff. I found the key ingredient is patience.
