I am very interested in buyin a nitro truck, I'm not sure which one to buy. I want it to be durable and somewhat fast. I'm looking for something low maintenance and easy to upgrade. been looking at the savage, anything else compare?

To help you out appropriately, I think it's best to ask few questions first.
What's your budget? What's your intent? Racing? Bashing? "If you cook scallops in a non-stick pan, then they won't stick. That's why they call it NON F@#*$&%G STICK!!!" - Im watching YOU!- roc |

even though i dont really like HPI i would have to agree with the others, bashing go with the savage, racing revo all the way, also if u dont want to spend a whole lot epesically if it is your first nitro MT u might even want to look in to the maxx series, tmaxx, smaxx or sport maxx.

there is a huge scam on ebay right now with RC's. I wouldn't buy anything RC related on ebay for the next few weeks. Click Here! BCE Jammin' CRT - Picco .28, JP 3 Hard Anno, Spek, Air 359 ST, JR Z590 T/B, Titanium turnbuckes, King Headz everything. "I think the biggest difference is that racers like to work on their car all weekend to make it go "fast" for 5 minutes, and bashers like to work on it for 5 minutes to make it go all weekend." - jellis71 I spend more time behind the camera than the controller. I would shy away from anything used on ebay especially motors, used buggies and trucks are never as good as they sound, because everyone knows raced only twice means raced twice a week for 3 months lol

I bought a bad ass revo on ebay last week all hoped up. I find great deals on ebay, you just need to know how to look and know the sellers, ask a ton of questions and make sure you use paypal. Then you should be good on ebay

How mechanically inclined are you and how much time/energy do you want to invest in the truck and tools? Some trucks are easier to work on than others. __________________________________________________ ________ Snake, my experience with new vs used: We bought our first RS4 used. It needed some work, but having to learn how to work on it and maintain it got me more involved with it. I think if I had purchased a new RTR I might have fallen into the mindset that you can just play with it and then put it away. Buying something used let me get inti the hobby for a little less money (risk) and see if I liked it. Then we moved up to new purchases and used purchases with more comfort level about what we would need to do to run and maintain them. If a newcomer is coming from Tyco/Nikko toys, they might never imagine the level of work involved with a hobby RC versus a toy car. If they have a used RC that they can work on, they will either get a true feel for the nature of RC maintenance and like it, or hate the repairs and drop it. My .02. |

i agree wth dave, i bought a new rtr 4 my first vehicle and i had no clue what to do, i could drive fine but as soon as something broke i would look at it and say 4 get it and take it to the hobby shop and have them work on it. maybe buying something that needs a little work wouldnt be that bad of an idea.
