Slr's are good you want at least 5 mega pixles. Easy camrea to use is the kodak 5 mega pixle 10x zoom. It all really depends on how much you want to pay.

Megapixles arnt everything, the pictures that I take with my grandparents 4mp kodak camera look like garbage compared to the pics I take with my fujifilm 3.2mp camera.

Ya, but it all depends the settings you put on the camera. You can asjust it for indoor lighting, florecent lighting, sun light etc... Also adjust ments for up close shots moving shots long range shots night shots. If you know how to use the camera with all the little gadgets you will be able to take some awesome shots.

The 20D is a great semi-pro camera. We tested them along with Fujis SLR before we decided to go with the "Big Boy" EOS 1Ds. It actually was capable of doing everything we wanted, we shoot alot of 180º to 360º Panoramas, and it worked great for that. But in the end we wanted the full size 35mm CMOS sensor. The 20D is not a full size sensor so there is a lense conversion. What this means is there is a factor of, I believe, 1.6x attributed to any lense you use.
