New mini t chassis, a review I did - 11-29-2005, 11:58 PM

Website-http://www.outcasthorizon.com/
Reviewer -T to the maxx2

Score(out of 10) -8
Price- $74.99
PROS
Great looking finish
Very very strong
Makes it wheelie less(A good thing in my book)
GREAT Customer support
Fast shipping, Paid on thanksgiving, received on monday.
Extended length!
NO-Slop steering setup
CONS
Price
Steering is a little tight, but nothing to bad.
Not all parts align perfectly
A little heavier, my mini t weighs 1lb 9oz now rtr with a gp 1100.
Included screws stripped relatively easy
Won't fit your old previously drilled bodies, without a mod to the shock tower.

I received this chassis in the mail when I got home from a slow, depressing day of school. I got home and was instantly cheered up. I grabbed the beautifully packed package and started to take the chassis out.

I got it out and started to assemble it. I encountered my first problem, I forgot that you needed a allen wrench to remove the stock ball ends. It took me about a half an hour of mangling them with vise grips to use outcasts included allen wrenches.(They are great, have a support for your fingers so you don't blister!)
I took my time in building it, got some dinner, posted on TRCZ, surfed ebay, built the chassis, had some tostitos and 4 hours later, it was done!

BEFORE

AFTER! :excited:

By then I realized my 7 cell battery wasnt charged so I threw it on the charger at 3 amps and about 30 minutes later I went outside and tested it. The steering didnt work. I PM'ed outcast, and he walked me through the steps of fixing it. (GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE, by the way). Turns out my turnbuckles didn't align correctly. I fixed it and went outside.
Testing
Testing was short and sweet, becuase it was dark outside when I got it. I turned on the mini t, recalibrated my mamba to extreme settings and pulled the trigger, not knowing what to expect. I had a few thoughts going through my mind. Would it be slower? Would it still wheelie? Is it as durable as Outcast said it was? Well, those thoughts where answered in one pull of the trigger. It still wheelied, but it wasn't as violent and backflippy as before. It was just as fast, well, as far as I could notice. I don't own a speedometer.
All in all,
BUY THIS CHASSIS! It is strong, beautiful, it extends the wheelbase for more stability, and best of all it gets rid of the steering wobble the mini-t is notorious for!

looks awesome, but for a mini-T isnt that a bit too heavy. It seems like u are just taking away speed and such maybe im wrong
