XS3 Pro or Spektrum? - 11-29-2005, 06:57 PM

I am looking to get a new radio when I get the cash because I am looking to race and need a good radio.

After doing some reading I am undecided on what to get. Either the XS3 Pro, DX3, or another radio with spektrum module (don't really know what my options are).

I don't need a top of the line radio. What different kind of radios could I use with the spektrum module? What do you think that I should do?

I would probably go with the specktrum dx3, I had a jr xs3 pro its a great radio but its the same thing as the xs3 except the colors and the grip

Yeah, I have the XS3 now, and if I could do all this again, I'd get something spektrum.

I really have to recommend the Spektrum radio. If you go to the track, you won't have to wait around for a free freq and you nearly eliminate the chance of glitches.

the DX3 is good but not alot of adjustment. you can look on ebay for a good used M8. I have seen them for $125 to $200 but then you will never need a new radio

You can get them off ebay (not sure how much though) or at just about any hobby shop i'd imagine....You'll need the module and the receiver.Correct me if I'm wrong.

Ok. Maybe I'll just get he DX3 first then learn how to use it and everything and if I really get into racing I'll go with the M8 or M11.

I dont think a m8 or a m11 is going to be a world diffrent from the dx3, the dx3 looks like a great radio.

the m8 and m11 are a world of difference over the dx3. Lots more features and there a lot faster acting then the dx3. If you ever tried both of them you can instantly tell a huge difference.

How would they be more fast acting?

there a high end radio and the response time on it is just a ton faster compared to an xs3. And with spektrum the m8/11 radio's become even faster. The response time was a very huge improvement when I got my m8. I would say the response time was twice as fast compared to xs3. To me it seemed like that anyways. Lets just say i had to turn up my servo's speed with the xs3 and with the m8 i had to turn it down a lot.
