Team Orion Wasp Rev CRF - The Power of Science - 11-15-2005, 08:36 PM

This engine definately has some new stuff going on. From what I've heard it will be offered in several sizes. I wonder if it will be ROAR legal?

looks like they dumped alot of cash in R&D, that's awesome. I wonder how much better of a motor 'if' it's better at all.

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ... WOW! If they put as much effort into the engine as they did that advertisment it might be pretty cool.

I wonder if it will be more of a finicky race motor or an all around motor like the TM or even a bit more towards the v-spec.

I think that some of the things that they hit on in that movie are already things you can find in "better " rc engines. Like the crank being shaped better for the air to flow in smoother... Like the putty used in eb modded engines or some novarossis( and other higher end engines. Or how when the fuel mix exits the crank , I think more and more engines have that butterflying in the crank to spin the fuel out and help atomize it.

I am hoping. Their motors have always seemed to be hit or miss... I hope this isn't just an expensive hit or miss case.

From what I've seen the wasp motors have been awesome in the .12 size. anything above that have been pretty iffy IMO. This is all based off what I have seen though, I've never owned any wasp motors

absolutely... I doubt I would ever put a .12 in a revo either. Not with the os. 18 as an option. hopefully this will give it a run for its money though...

At first glance it seems like a similar theory that a filled crank in a mod motor uses to direct fuel flow.

Just my .02

Seems like a sound .02 obsessive. There is speculation as to whether there will be a .12 off-road version. To me it seems like they took everything that has been done to engines with mods and made one that wouldnt benefit from mods because its already been done, except it seems to dish the piston head.

Rocco, I have a good friend that has a Wasp 28 in his Savage, and has not had an opportunity to really run it yet. The one time he tried it kept overheating and the headscrews came loose.

What issues are you familiar with regading the Wasp 28?
