Ok... so I was right in thinking that the added leverage couldn't be a good thing. That is the only thing that held me back from getting an earlier truggy. (And I noticed it again on the MBX-5 truggy linked above) Figured I should ask since I will probably be looking into one in the future...

If so, than my setup is the complete opposite of yours.

The rear arms hang much lower than the front arms on mine. Also, from the looks of the basic race setup I found on HPI's website, I should set the droop so the front arms go no lower then level with the chassis. Something tells me that's all wrong...

Does the Hellfire explain what droop does exactly ?

If not, go look at the XB8 manual to get an idea of what you want.

I took a peek at that setup sheet I found on HPI's website. From my understanding, he has the droop for the front set so that there is no downtravel. Who would do that on a monster truck? When I first saw that, I was like "what the hell? That can't be right." Maybe typo?

Mine is currently set at 35mm front and 22mm rear (factory settings).

The term "full droop" isn't used anywhere in the book, but I've heard the term used by racers alot. Does full droop mean maximum downtravel on the arms?

Yup full droop maximum suspension drop(hang). Droop effects weight transfer. I'll try to find someones good explaination on how changing rear and front droop effects the cars handling.

OK truggy coveters...check this out.

XRC mag, March 06 issue, page186....Hobbypeople.net has the Hellfire for $539.99 for item #261653, and says that is $30 off their regular price. I called them and they said HPI raised the intro price to the dealers. And they are back ordered until 2/9/06.

Bummer, thought I found a deal. They want $619.99.
