It would always be nice to have another track in the region to visit during the summer. Obviously you'll need a core group or local club to support your track. Many of these guys don't like to travel very far to go to a track. How big is the hobby in Rockford?

I suggest that you also register on the free conferences on S-Grid. http://www.rc-racing.com/cgi-bin/backtalk There is a conference (discussion forum) for track owners that would help you a lot.

Green Hornet, I know four guy's that live in Rockford. They race MT in WI @ the Rockpile. You should check out the LHS. I know you will get a better idea of how many people are interested. I live in Chi, and travel 2.5 hours to race. I would gladly visit your track.
Keep us informed on your decison to open the track in Rockford. ChitownracerLST |

Heck if the track can accomidate indoor and outdoor electric and Nitro off road and on road I think you will be busy with it.
I like the Nitro but with Winter approaching there really is no where to go. I can tell ya I would go there and my neighbor who is just starting out. Leaisure is a bit of a hike for me.
