Went over to leisure hobbys today and picked up some stuff for the savage.
JR XS3 Pro (the silver one). No more conflicting channels for me now .El Camino SS body and some paint to go with it. MSR4 Integy shocks. They didn't have chrome paint, so I gotta wait to head over to al's on monday before I paint the body. The receiver is installed and tested. The shocks are built and oiled (35 weight), but ran into a snag installing them. The hole for the mount is closer to the cap than the stock pieces, so it hits the shock tower and doesn't fit . Being as late as it is, I didn't want to crack the dremel out and wake everyone in the house, so I'll wait until tommorrow to finish up the truck. I little grinding will take care of my little snag and hold me over until I pick up some aluminum shock towers. I can't wait to fire her up and take her for a little spin tommorrow!Truck should be mint by saturday for the video shoot . I'd take pictures, but my camera is missing . I'll have to get a hold of jack and borrow his."If you cook scallops in a non-stick pan, then they won't stick. That's why they call it NON F@#*$&%G STICK!!!" - Im watching YOU!- roc |

On the packaging it says no heavier than 25 weight! That's crazy. I wonder if all the shaft bending issues are people using to heavy weight oil?
I said screw it and put in 35 weight and the 3 hole pistons just incase. Took her out for a spin earlier, talk about a difference. This thing handles like a dream! Let's see how long these shocks hold up. I don't intended on any rediculous 20 foot jumps, that's what the stock shocks are for . I'm trying to put together a good race setup. The controller is very nice! Now it's time to start converting the rest of the cars with new receivers so I don't have to lug around a controller for each one. "If you cook scallops in a non-stick pan, then they won't stick. Awww crap!!! I just picked up a set of Integy shocks for my MGT.
100 bucks for 8 shocks. I hope I'm not gonna get burnt. There just isn't a lot of options for the MGT right now. I have to say that they LOOK cool. The have reservoirs like the stock shocks, but unlike the stock shocks, they actually function as reservoirs. It was kind of a bitch getting them to fit. The lower balls are narrower and required me to find shimming washers. The tops are too wide. The say to use the stock locknuts but to INSTALL THEM BACKWARDS! A quick trip to the hobby shop tonight netted me the correct hardware to do the job right. Amazing for shocks that are supposed to be a "direct fit". TRC |
