Tuning Help Please (video included) - Obsessive R/C - 08-12-2006

Isn't a V-Spec a bit much for concrete step jumpin' :p:

Tuning Help Please (video included) - Ponch - 08-12-2006

I picked up a nice RB WS7 II and a JP-1 for it.

Tuning Help Please (video included) - rocco79 - 08-12-2006

Why spend $10 on a CB when you can get rid of a perfectly good engine and pipe combo to get another good engine that will still need a 13t CB!!

Tuning Help Please (video included) - rocco79 - 08-12-2006

Oh !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(SNAP!)

Tuning Help Please (video included) - Ponch - 08-12-2006

Haha...I sold the sirio and the G1 and bought a WS7. Still no 13t cb yet but I'm gonna get one :p:

Tuning Help Please (video included) - Obsessive R/C - 08-12-2006

New or used WS7??

Tuning Help Please (video included) - Ponch - 08-12-2006

gallons? ( supposed gallons)

Tuning Help Please (video included) - Obsessive R/C - 08-12-2006

I had that same motor a while back...real strong midrange a little odd on the bottom. Just needs a good clutch set up for the snap down low.

Tuning Help Please (video included) - Ponch - 08-12-2006

Not sure on the gallons left. He said what they were but I don't remember.

ORC, what would you reccomend for a clutch setup? 2 1.0 springs and 1 1.1 or 2 1.1's and 1 1.0 or 3 1.1's?

Tuning Help Please (video included) - cemeb4dk - 08-12-2006

Why would you run different rate springs at the same time?

I have never heard of such a thing................

Tuning Help Please (video included) - Ponch - 08-12-2006

IDK Mike Czech was talking about Ryan Mainfield running different spring rates in this thread;

http://www.chitownrc.com/showthread.php?t=4350

or would you only do that if you had different weight shoes so you need different springs to make up for the difference? I'm confused.

Tuning Help Please (video included) - Obsessive R/C - 08-12-2006

For you I'd say keep it simple until you know that engine. Start out with a nice standrd set up for a baseline. Alum shoes w/ all 1.0 springs (Mugen stuff always works well) until you get the whole thing dialed you can't really try something totally new w/o something to compare it to.

Tuning Help Please (video included) - Ponch - 08-12-2006

Alright then.

Now correct me if I'm wrong; Running springs such as 1.0 and 1.1 would give me more bottom end snap compared to .9 springs which would make the low a bit smoother?

Tuning Help Please (video included) - chickenfarmer3 - 08-12-2006

the higher the number on the springs,1.1, the higher the engine will rev before the clutch engages, the lower the spring,.9, the earlier it will engage. so yes higher number means more bottom snap.

Tuning Help Please (video included) - chickenfarmer3 - 08-12-2006

mabey you will get lucky and that will be the magic 13t bell that comes with that motor and all problems will be solved.

Tuning Help Please (video included) - Ponch - 08-12-2006

Nope the motor doesn't come with the clutch setup lol.

Tuning Help Please (video included) - thenewguy821 - 08-12-2006

I've heard of some people running 2 different clutch springs. Mostly Higher end drivers. Supposedly, the lighter springs actually engage the clutch, while the heavier spring makes the one shoe release a little earlier, which SUPPOSEDLY deglazes the Clutchbell. Don't know if it actually works though.

Pro racer tricks...also reserved for sponsored drivers who don't have to pay thier mom to drive them to the track. :p:

Saw this on the grid.

10 gallons, new rod at 5 gallons, hasn't been pinched yet.
