Help With Setup - SLOW REVO - 10-27-2006

What wing kits work on the revo,
Also looking for a body to fit with the extended chassis

Help With Setup - Michowski - 10-27-2006

I used the mbx4 wing kit. On the traxxas forum somebody posted a nice how to on how to mount the wing to a stock body tower. Dont hav ehte link saved anymore tho. http://www.crispycrittershobbyshop.com/store/product.php?productid=17160&cat=479&page=1

And as for a body, they dont have one for the extended truck that I know of besides the stock traxxas one so what you will have to do it mount it in the rear with the stock holes and in the front make new ones. Easiest way to do that is put a dab of paint on both the top of the front body posts and then center the body and put it down. When you lift the body off the truck you got nice little paint marks of were to put the holes.

proline make an extended crowd pleazer body for the 3.3 chassis revos.

Gearing, leave it stock
2-speed, leave it stock

Later after you get comfortable driving on a track you can fine tune things better.
Fine tuning now will not make you a good driver, faster.

A bolt on wing kit is available from Tekno R/c (http://www.teknorc.com), and if you want to go a different route, DPP Racing (http://dppracing.com) makes a metal plate that screws into the body mount holes in your shock tower, and you screw the MBX-5 Wing kit to it.

The extended bodies specifically made for extended revos so far are the Traxxas stock body(http://www.traxxas.com) and the Proline extended CP 2.0 for the revo 3.3. (http://www.pro-lineracing.com)

Hope this helps some.

J concepts makes a 3.3 revo body too.

the teckno wing mount IMO is gayer then 2 grown men on 1 motorcycle. Takes the strength away from the body posts, they will bend after some big crashes. The mbx4 is just drilling 4 holes and putting a screw through it and a nut on the other side and tightning it down. Shouldnt have any more then 5 minutes if all the hardware is in front of you.

funniest thing I read in awhile

Wings: I use the Mugen MBX5 Wing with a TTR 160mm Wing. Holds up well. I have used the Tenko adjustable wing mount and went back to the Mugen. The tenko mount, you can not adjust the body height. But the Mugen mount does take some drilling in order to mount it right. There are many how-to's on that. I am sure you can find them all at the Traxxas Revo forums.

Bodies: Proline CP 2.0, Jconcepts, Majestic-They say the MT body will fit the 2.5 and 3.3. But many people are using the LSP body for the 3.3. Extreme racing(they make the CF throttle mount) has a low profile body for the 2.5 and 3.3.

Here's what i got done so far.
Extended chassis And brace.
rpm arms and oversized steering knuckles
Did slyden steering mods.
red push rods
mip axles
center diff & rear brake kit
Wabash wheels 23mm hubs with crime fighters
proggresive 2 rockers
mip clutch.
spectrum dx3 radio 590 servo throttle/brake & 2x jr650 for steering
sirio .23 pullstart, with trinty pipe
still need to get a body. and starter box

Help With Setup - Casketman - 10-29-2006

Just watch your RPM carriers. Since you did the steering mod. RPM WILL NOT honor the warrenty on the carriers if you have a problem.

Help With Setup - Ponch - 10-29-2006

Those Crimefighters won't do well at LH. Mr. Tune said something this weekend that should help: "There are only 2 sets of tires you need at LH: A set of boas (c comp) and a set of (MT or MTR) bowties. They'll last you over a year."

Listen to the man! lol

Help With Setup - Casketman - 10-29-2006

Holeshots didnt do to bad either.

Help With Setup - Ponch - 10-29-2006

Yeah, those were hooked out there too!

Help With Setup - Casketman - 10-29-2006

Mine didnt do to bad. I dont remember ever racing on blue groove before. So it was nothing but a learning curve all weekend for me.

But they did well. I would have to say that the boa's had alittle edge. But then I was seeing guys run holeshots and they were holding up just fine. For the hell of it,I might go out and get a set of C's to go along with my holeshots.

May as well. If you like one much more than the other, you can sell the worse set....

Just wondering, any reason why your axle carriers are yellow?

Help With Setup - Casketman - 10-29-2006

LOL...the left front is because back in peoria I had one pop out from a bad landing. I have yet to get another black rpm carrier to replace it.

But before, that was part of a set I still have(for extras now) that I had painted up earlier this year.

Help With Setup - Ponch - 10-29-2006

Ahh gotcha lol, I was looking at your truck and was just like "whaa?"...

Who sells 500 diff fluid for center diff.
Does any one know what comes in the center diff stock

Help With Setup - Casketman - 11-11-2006

I think stock is 100k. Not sure,I dont have the center diff. But as for who sells it. I have seen it at Tower,TenkoRC,and Amain. I think Mugen is the only one that I can remember seeing with 500k oil

Help With Setup - kevinF - 11-11-2006

whqats wrong with the stock oil in there??

Help With Setup - Tex - 11-12-2006

Kyosho makes 500K, not Mugen

Help With Setup - Casketman - 11-12-2006

I knew someone did, thanks for the correction.
