it was actually 10 dollars and bernie got 7 and the extra money matt got was for pizza. Or maybe it was 12 a person. Either way it was a set amount to be payed that included track fee and pizza.

ChitownRC Holiday/Pizza Party, Leisure Hours Jan. 8th '07 - Tex - 09-09-2006

Well the pizza bill was like $100+, it was from Michael's and they didn't have any specials...lol

ChitownRC Holiday/Pizza Party, Leisure Hours Jan. 8th '07 - Tex - 09-09-2006

so lets say 15 people were at the last one and matt got $12 each, that's $75 in "extra money", not nearly enough for 4 large pizzas.

ChitownRC Holiday/Pizza Party, Leisure Hours Jan. 8th '07 - MX_KEVIN - 09-10-2006

Bern can make us 10 pizzas for $70...uummmm pizza Big Grin

ChitownRC Holiday/Pizza Party, Leisure Hours Jan. 8th '07 - Tex - 09-10-2006

Talked with Bernie sunday and got a preliminary yes on the party. Still need to work out the details.

ChitownRC Holiday/Pizza Party, Leisure Hours Jan. 8th '07 - Thirdgen89GTA - 10-03-2006

Well here is an option for you. Find a coupon and you can have Dominicks make the pizza's. Normally their large pizzas are 16" and about $10. However, on fridays the pizzas are only $5 each with a perferred card. You can find coupons that bring it to $7 each on normal days.

Their pizza's are pretty good to. We end up buying pizza every sunday at the bash at the end. Or we go out somewhere for dinner. The 2 pizzas we get usually feeds about 4 to 5 adults. So the normal price for 15 people would be near $65, however if you get the coupons its going to be about $42 if you get the $7/pizza deal. In addition to that you can get a 10% discount for preferred members as well.

Just a thought for you guys who want to do this.

No need to bring or order pizzas if we have a pizza party at LH. They have pizzas on hand.

ChitownRC Holiday/Pizza Party, Leisure Hours Jan. 8th '07 - Thirdgen89GTA - 10-03-2006

True, but there is something to be said for a frozen pizza vs a pizza made fresh.

ChitownRC Holiday/Pizza Party, Leisure Hours Jan. 8th '07 - Tex - 10-03-2006

You obviously haven't had their frozen pizzas thirdgen..... They have two specific pizza ovens that cook them to perfection. They are pizza specific ovens, not regular ovens and they cook the pizzas like no regular oven could.

I have no idea how, but they do and the pizzas are delicious.

I would think that buying the pizza from LHR would also give us a better chance at getting to do this because it's more money for them. Let's say it's $15 a person to attend the party (pizza and practice), that's $8 for practice and $7 for your own pizza, it really adds up to being a great deal for the attendees AND the track.
Even if only 10 people show up, that's $150 for Leisure, minus the $2.50 they pay for each pizza (estimated) which still makes the track $125.00.....so to speak....

I'm thinking we could get more than 10 people from this board alone to show up there on a Monday from 530pm to 1030pm. Probably more like 20 people total, estimated. Last time we did this there was like 20+ people.

Do it during Christmas Break when schools are off and you could prolly get 40-50 guys out there.

I would like that more, but I think people would rather be outside. I am not sure when the other party was.

ChitownRC Holiday/Pizza Party, Leisure Hours Jan. 8th '07 - Mr. Tune - 10-03-2006

There is no more practice outside anyways, so the christmas idea work to everyone's advantage.

ChitownRC Holiday/Pizza Party, Leisure Hours Jan. 8th '07 - mikeh - 10-03-2006

Im not sure either, but indoors was fun. Christmas break might be a good idea. With Halloween, Thanksgiving, etc family stuff coming up soon, X-mas break would be a fine time.

Mr. Tune Wrote:There is no more practice outside anyways, so the christmas idea work to everyone's advantage.

Didn't know that.

Then I guess Christmas break is a good idea.

ChitownRC Holiday/Pizza Party, Leisure Hours Jan. 8th '07 - kevinF - 10-03-2006

heres my idea.....i say we do $15 for pizza and practice on a night from 5:30-10:30 and then its 1 whole pizza for one paid person, then if you bring family its an extra $8 per pizza.

this way LHR will make plenty of money, and the over the christams Idea is a good idea.

if this goes thorugh with if bernie wants i can bring my pizza maker. it bakes one full size pizza in 14-16 minutes just like the LHR one

ChitownRC Holiday/Pizza Party, Leisure Hours Jan. 8th '07 - Ponch - 10-03-2006

Sounds good to me, Chrismahaunakwanzaka (sp?) break track night!

ChitownRC Holiday/Pizza Party, Leisure Hours Jan. 8th '07 - Tex - 10-03-2006

ChitownRC Christmas party !!

ChitownRC Holiday/Pizza Party, Leisure Hours Jan. 8th '07 - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 10-03-2006

And if it's during Break, why limit the thinking to the evening hours? I know many guys don't get days off during the Holiday Season, but an earlier start/finish would/might make it easier to sell to The Master Resource Scheduler (MRS), for those of us that have them.

ChitownRC Holiday/Pizza Party, Leisure Hours Jan. 8th '07 - Ponch - 10-03-2006

Good idea too...10AM to 10PM? All day RC!

ChitownRC Holiday/Pizza Party, Leisure Hours Jan. 8th '07 - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 10-03-2006

lol - not quite the idea I had in mind....

ChitownRC Holiday/Pizza Party, Leisure Hours Jan. 8th '07 - Tex - 10-03-2006

that would also mean staff all day at the track. I'd guess they might not be up to that, plus 5 hrs is plenty isn't it? that's a serious question...after 530-1030 on regular practice nights, I'm ready to go home.
