Decal Pro -
01-29-2007, 02:36 PM
I was very excited to see the Decal Pro system at the Ihobby show recently.
I'm no painter but a system like this could really give a good painter another trick in his bag. Check it out: www.decalpro.gs The owner is sending me a unit for testing and to help spread the word. Of course Brian (Biodragen) will probably be the guy really doing the creative work with this thing. We'll be making logos available for your bodies. These can go inside and can be as detailed as a 4-color printer can make them. We're going to be using this for my M&M Losi 8 body. We are assisting in the marketing and further development of this product to the RC Car industry. Look for the upcoming articles in all the major RC mags. Eventually there will be a forum on the Decal Pro site for painters to share ideas and ask questions. |

im curious to see how well these decals will hold up to being backed with numerous layers of paint as well as different laquers and urethanes. This is pretty much a step above the XXX main picture glue out there, I dont see guys really being able to do very large things like paint masks of flames and stuff but itll prolly work good for small stuff like names or if u wanna do MFG logos and not have to paint them

It's not a decal actually. There's no substrate just the ink and adhesive. Mike , you're right, these these will not replace masking but are merely an addition to them. The cool part is that they can conform to compound complex curves.

I talked to Nemo about painting my body with an M&M theme also but he wanted too much. But I gotta say, close up, that's amazing!!
I want mine to be very visible on the far side of the track so brown will not do. I will include some of the 3D individual pieces along with a character however. |

Well, that's the beauty of the Decal Pro system. If one has the computer skills to create an image producing amazing graphics is far easier and cost effectively.

Carefully reading the web page, it says you have to use a "LASER" printer, or if you use an inkjet printer, you have to make a copy of it on a photo copier that uses a toner. Just using a regular inkjet printer by itself won't work. Read it carefully.
