I've had comcast broadband for going on 5 years and love it, but I live a couple hours away from Chicago.

Comcast is better than AT&T hands down IMO. We had them for a few years in Lombard and now I have Insight in Champaign (which is owned by Comcast) with zero problems.

I've had cable internet for 9 years. Nothing even comes close to it in speed and reliablility!

Comcast will make dsl feel like dial up!

i have the upgraded version of comcast highspeed. its great, but expensive.

if you play online video games via xbox360 or playstation 3, there's no substitute.

i have SBC DSL etc. I've never had problems, except for one time they tried to upgrade our connection to a 6000 connection, and we were too far from the server so it went on and off all the time. other than that, none. My dad has comcast, its good though, I'd reccomend it.

I hate comcrap!!

They burned up 3 of my modems. Then when we dropped them for at&t,they wanted money for the first modem(they were at&t and it came with a modem at that time).

I have at&t and I have no problems with them at all. I am close enough to the box to where I can run a T1 line speed if I try hard enough.

My upload speed is faster also then comcrap.

Oh and I dont pay no where near as much nor do I have to do one of those stupid package deals. And after a year,my rate didnt go up like it will with comcrap.

My comcast is super fast the only thing is When I got it first about 3 years ago it would just stop working for like a day at the time and no one could figure out what it was. It hasn't done that in about a year

Mamba max.

How could comcast burn up your modem? And yes, if you live right near a hub DSL can be as fast as cable, but not over any decent distance away... which is the problem he is having.

I dont know dude.. This started to happen after we dropped comcast for tv and went to dish. Then within a year. 3 modems would slowly fade to the point where I was running at dial up speeds.

There were a couple of times when a tech came out and said I seem to have a higher voltage on my line then normal. But that was the only problem they found at that time. In the end, they put some small brass thing on the line and that ended the problem.

But 6 different techs and all of them left confused with no clue. I ran speed tests at CNet.com,Speakeasy.com(which is what they used) and PC Pitstop and they all came up with speeds in the basement.

That's wierd. I've never blown up a modem, and my speed is top notch!

Just ran a test at speedtest.net

17,171kbps = 16.8mbps I'm on the 6mpbs plan w/ speed boost.

DSL can't touch this kind of speed!
