So I got some summer reading stuff left to do.

I've gotten through Devil in the White City and Into Thin Air. But now I've reached Eats, Shoots & Leaves...I'm confused. Is it just me or do I not have to do anything but read the book (going by what this sheet says)...

well first of all, it says 2006/2007 school year.

Teachers arent the brightest...If they were smart, they would have gotten a better job...haha

First of all. Drop Junior Honors English. I fell for all that "honors" crap in school and lived to regret it. Most of my friends were in regular classes and there were definately more asshat teachers in the honors classes. A.P. science classes on the other hand were cool. But English will not really help you to get into a university. Work over the summer??!!! I rest my case.

You have to do summer reading whether you are in honors or not. Just not as much.

I looked into it seriously last year. I've never done good in my "english" classes (which are apparently all READING or so it seems so far), just managing to pass...So I went to my dean or whatever she is...And she basicallly said you would have to meet up with EACH honors teacher on my own time, and discuss with them why I want to get out of JUST honors english... So basically go humiliate yourself infront of a bunch of teachers and then have your parents sign it too, THEN you have to have some large conference with all of them together. Some major BS right there.

Journal the first two books, just read the 3rd.

It's funny , I read both ITA and DWC. Loved both books.

I prefer the non-friction stuff, and those with Chicago connections. The Eastland sinking story is another good book.

That is some major B.S. there. I would do it anyway. The reason being nothing more than my plate is full and I want out of that class. But at that age, my parents were supportive of my educational efforts and if I made the decision to drop something, they knew that I was the best judge of that. I have never heard of a public school with that kind of red tape.

ponch READING is english, its called comprehenshion, since ur in honors ull probably end up doing a whole section on themes motifs and symbols etc....sounds easy but depending on how anal ur teacher is it can be a real bitch. Wait till poetry! that shit bloooooooooooooooooows! if you dont have the same interpretation as ur teacher u FAIL

^Oh no mike....That IS basically all we have done between fresh/soph year...I only passed soph year Lit because the second semester was speech...Hell I could make a speech up off the top of my head if I had to...
