WAAAAY off topic - I need a Chain Saw - 07-20-2007, 11:58 AM

I need to buy a homeowner grade chainsaw for light tree trimming and such, so I don't need a monster saw.

SO what do you guys who own one, recommend, and where's the best deal to be found?

Thanks

I'd prefer new, but that is a good idea that I had not considered.

If it's just for light trimming, why not pick up an eletric/battery power saw. Nice and quiet and still can get the job done.

electric is an option...I do prefer gas just cause it makes more noise and mess, kinda like nitro

Gas let's me be more mobile with it, is all.

Stihl are nice but quite expensive. An equally nice and slightly cheaper option is a Husqvarna. That is what my dad ended up picking up and he loves it. Amazing how many trees you can find to "trim" (Read: Cut Down) with a new chainsaw. Never had a single problem with it either.
