ive yet to see any teenager that was given a car not get in a wreck and pretty much total the car. Come to think of it, ive yet to see any teenager not get into an accident. Ive been lucky and havent so far. Then again I wasnt given a shiney new car either. I worked for what I got and earned it. I pay my own insurance. I pay my own bills. I dont get in accidents. I have no problems on the road. No tickets, nothing. I say earn your damn money and get your own car and pay for your own shit. At least this way it will make you appreciate what you got a little more. Or at the least think before you do something stupid

I made it from 16 to 21 without an accident.

But I guess if you count the time bad tires and weather caused me to spin and tap a sign once...

I was accident free until 23, then some dumbass pulled in front of me on a rainy night, without having the line of sight past another vehicle, and bam, 9k in damage to my car. Heck I didn't even buy a car until I was 22. I always drove parents' cars, just when they didn't need them and I had to go someplace. I guess "the system" is partially at fault here, because I know for a fact that a TON of drivers ed programs are complete crap. Thankfully I went to a decent school.
